In case you missed it, there was a talk on Twitch (Twitch.tv/PrivateerPress) about this being the 15th year anniversary of Warmachine and they are releasing journeyman warcasters of some of the originals. For Protectorate we are getting Severius0 (yes, that is a zero). Since some of you aren't participating in the CID process, I'll attempt to copy and paste him here:
Scrutator Potenate Severius – 15th Anniversary Journeyman Warcaster Protectorate Solo
SEVERIUS 0
SPD STR MAT RAT DEF ARM CMD FOC
6 6 6 4 15 15 7 5
FA: C
Point Cost: 6
Base Size: Small Base
Damage: 5
SEVERIUS 0
Battlegroup Controller - This model is not a warcaster but has the following warcaster special rules: Battlegroup Commander, Focus Manipulation, Power Field, and Spellcaster. This model must have at least one warjack in its battlegroup at the start of the game.
Eye of Menoth - While in this model’s control range, friendly Faction models gain +1 to attack and damage rolls.
Oracular Vision - Once per turn when this model is directly hit by an attack, it can immediately spend 1 focus point to not suffer a damage roll from the attack.
WEAPONS [SEVERIUS 0]
Staff of Law [1x] (None) sword icon RNG: 2 POW: 7 P+S: 13
Damage Type: Magical
SPELLS Cost RNG AOE POW DUR OFF
Immolation 2 8 – 12 – Yes
Immolation causes fire damage XICONX. On a critical hit, the model hit suffers the Fire continuous effect XICONX.
Mystic Wards 2 Self Ctrl – RND No
Enemy animi and enemy upkeep spells on models in the spellcaster’s battlegroup that are in its control area immediately expire. Enemy magic attacks targeting a model in the spellcaster’s battlegroup suffer –5 RNG. Mystic Wards lasts for one round.
Road to War 3 Self Ctrl – UP No
When a friendly Faction model in the spellcaster’s control range destroys one or more enemy models with a melee or ranged attack during its activation, immediately after the attack is resolved one warjack in the spellcaster’s battlegroup that is in its control range can advance up to 3˝. A warjack can advance as a result of Road to War only once per turn.
The others that are going back in time are Sorscha, Caine and Deneghra.

There is also a change to one of our themes to be able to include him in it:
Protectorate Theme Force: Creator’s Might: This change will allow for Severius 0's inclusion.
In the Army Composition section, replace “Initiate Tristan Durant” with “Solos with Battlegroup Controller”.

Anyone else disappointed for PoM, again?
Cygnar gets another strong gunner solo, Khador an infantry buff/jack juicer, and Cryx more debuffs.
I mean Road to War is great with FOC5 to potentially load up two jacks especially coupled with Eye, but Mystic Wards seems like a dud to me. And loading up jacks would be kinda risky on a squishy solo.

So apparently Sev 0 is now allowed in Creator's might theme
So you can bring both Tristan and Sev 0 , potentially as your free cards!
Malekus runs Revelator, Tristan and Sev run a Reckoner each. Stacking Eye of Menoth, Choir + 2 damage and additional die on feat turn for all their fire damage range attacks
Or is it worth putting Blessing of Vengeance with Sev 0 for 2 immolations with an additional damage die for each on feat turn, and an effective + 3 attack/damage on the first one arced through him. ie first one would be effective Magic Attack 8, POW 15 with an additional damage die, second would be magic Attack 6 POW 13, but you would probably have to boost to hit which would blow his whole FOC stack
Unless your playing against Crucible Guard of course or Kallus 2

Eye of Menoth is really really strong. There’s a lot of potential here to get work out of that.
Road to war has potential as well. Run Sevvy 0 with a Templar or Reckoner depending on preference.
He is not as rediculous as Cain 0. But he is very strong.

I want to be happy with road to war. But I'm concerned with how it affects list construction, given that he's going in either creators might....eeew.....or interdiction, at which point he'll take one solo spot and remove opportunities for another. EI is the theme that uses the most key solos by far, at least the way I build it. Eye of Menoth is fantastic, but not worth 13 or more points: those points have got to do stuff.
I'm not worried about cryx debuffs: they'll either have to throw arc nodes on a junior, which sucks, or get close with a junior, which sucks.
I'll be trying it tonight and posting a batrep when possible. I'll be using him with errants, I think...more models means more uses of eye.
Note to the faithful who will post on CID: PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT MEDIOCRITY HERE. Mystic ward in particular is a soft option and we can push for harder denial. Arcane ward, banishing ward, or castigate would all be options I'd love to work with instead.

I would love to run
Malekus - Revelator Sev 0 (free) -Reckoner Tristan (free) -Reckoner Vassal Mechanik X2 Wrack Choir (min) Rhoven & Co
then either the Covenant or a Vassal as the 3rd free model
or replace a reckoner with 2 Repenters for more infantry clearing

I just find it interesting that he has FOCUS 5. There are actual warcasters with FOCUS 5 (Gorten stands out most notably). I think I like him the most out of all of them with Caine coming in at a very close 2nd. Denny and Sorscha don't seem super interesting to me.

With all due respect, I think EoM alone is enough. Rest of his card is just a bonus (and a nice bonus!). With this guy, every PoM caster basically gets EoM. Thats sick.
P.S. But since it would be strange for me to leave without sayng anything negative, here you are: character-wise, the whole idea of *0 old casters is dumb, Dumb, DUUUUUUMB!!! Is is SO BLOODY DIFFICULT to make new characters?

15/15 FOC5 with Oracular Vision, he's pretty durable. Drop a repenter on him and place the EoM bubble. Hes proving a nice but and a spraybot in a pretty safe spot.

So I can have my beloved Eye of Menoth, a potent Focus battery, threat extension AND still another warcaster in the same list ? That is great news !!! I already use Sev1 in Exemplar Interdiction and now it looks like I can add a whole another caster to this list with just minor tweaks PS: And yes, the idea is pretty dumb, story-wise :]

He's going to be superb in Exemplar Interdiction. +1/+1 to all our weaponmasters within 10" of him is going to make them hurt even more. Throw Harby in the mix and he just wont die. Even Vindictus will love him for the buff and can protect him on the way in with the feat (ha, Megatron serving Starscream for once).

And depending on what jack you take with him, road to war maybe interesting.

I mean Road to War is great with FOC5 to potentially load up two jacks especially coupled with Eye, but Mystic Wards seems like a dud to me. And loading up jacks would be kinda risky on a squishy solo. I think you're really underselling how good Eye of Menoth on a stick is. Road to War is also good, as he as all the Focus needed to upkeep it and fuel two Redeemers, one of whom can help the other advance 3" and still aim. It's got uses. Mystic Wards is highly situational, but whatever. And a MA 6 Immolate that you can cast twice with a boost somewhere doesn't suck - especially if you went froggy and put Blessing in his BG so that it's now suddenly a MA 8 POW 15. Hell, he's a potent combat solo in his own at MAT 7 P+S 14 with an 11" threat and 5 focus for attacks and boosting. You could throw a Vigilant somewhere funny and just use him that way. He's going to shine in lists that like ranged superiority. Suddenly Malekus may be relevant. For me, his biggest downside is that he can't be taken with Sevy2, who he would help immensely. Oh well. Regarding the other Journeymen: Caine0 is hyper strong and probably the best. He can be taken in 3 of Cygnar's 4 theme lists. With only a week to test these guys, I'm not sure what changes he'll see, if any. I am not looking forward to Snipe on a stick, but I admit that Snipe is less relevant than ever because of how important strong scenario play is, which usually brings guns in range without Snipe. Trick Shot for free, though, can suck it. Sorscha0 is a cool buff bot. I'm not a fan of KD immunity, but whatever Kreoss1 hasn't seen a ton of play recently. Fog of War can be seen as analogous to Wrong Eye & Snapjaw, except relevant against range, less tilting, and easier to counter. Boundless Charge is amazeballs, but it leaves her distressingly low on Focus. And don't forget, she has to take a Warjack in a faction that lacks utility Warjacks. I thought Denny0 was ridonculous until it was pointed out to me that she cannot be taken for free in any theme currently. She's only allowed in two of Cryx's 6 themes (they have too many, jerks) and she is not free in either. There will be an opportunity cost to taking her and it's a minimum 12 point investment for Parasite on a stick. Plus, aside from Parasite she does not do anything compelling. And her FOC 4 means boosties are needed against practically everything, leaving her bingo on Focus and asking for death. Sevy0 stacks up real damn well. His stats are amazing for a solo. FOC 5 alone is powerful, but he's also SPD 6, DEF 15 ARM 15, and MAT 6. Young Sevy was a beast! He has Eye of Menoth which is astoundingly good, Oracular Vision which takes his survivability to great heights, and a decent spell list. And more spells than any Journeyman. Plus, the restriction of taking a Warjack with him doesn't really matter, as it's not uncommon for Protectorate armies to exceed WJP, and then some. One 'jack can pretty easily be slotted on to him. Overall, I'm praying he makes it through unscathed.
