Gaston , in short yes I am back, have all the lesser Warlocks, Maximus , and some other minion Solos like Gobber, Alten, Lanyssa... Much solos but actually no Warbeasts and besides Boomwholer and Nyss no other Minion Units... Then I stick with suggesting eBarney. Both he and Rask can run many lessers, and both being gator casters they will be able to share beasts too. The solos will be similar, but may change slightly as the different lists focus on different things. Barney is expensive, but the rest should keep the cost down. Both Barney and Rask are considered competitive, so you are not handicapping yourself in that area either. Gaston how would you build eBarney to pair with Rask?

I would build him to handle Cryx and then game plan for the other match ups within that framework.

interesting. that is something in particular that i have had issues with using that pair. haven't been able to correctly identify what to build barney for and how to build that list. would the list be similiar to something you ran during CID? obviously there is a mist speaker, but what does the rest of the list look like, if you don't mind? not trying to have you build my lists lol, just looking for some help getting an understanding of how to play minions from a vet.

I imagine that it would be relatively similar to the CID lists, as I think it is more a mindset than a list. Barney can control one unit with Rebuke, so either a Blindwalker or Grinders for Craft Talisman. I personally prefer Grinders as Barney already plays forward and they make tasty feat targets. Then you need to have some models that can reach out and touch support staff such as BLT to remove to hit buffs (i.e. Turtle with Mist Speaker). I am generally a fan of the Turtle because even if you don't punch through the armor under the Wraith Engine aura, you still corrode and get some kills. And you can Counter Blast, Retaliatory, Enliven, and Carapace. And the Mist Speaker helps with the Incorporeal. Longchops should be super duper good too.

good things to consider. i run bone grinders. mostly i am struggling to get the mix of solos and beasts right. Long chops seems like a good idea, i have not picked him up yet. the turtle as well. Have you run in gaspy slayer spam yet? it has reared its ugly head in the pacific northwest. paired with dark host it makes for quite the challenge. barney killed 3 slayers, but i was still running the dracodile, so the list obviously couldn't handle all the slayers. have since picked up dahlia and skarath, and I am considering rorsch and brine from some proper threat range. coming from legion, i don't know what to do when I can't alpha lol. i like the turtle tech though.

I have not played it (yet), but was keeping it in mind. I would probably not take the Dracodile, sorry. It may be hard to dojo out, as I think the game will come down to positioning A LOT. But if you look at Barney, Wrastler, x2 Spitters, Dahlia, Wrong Eye, Brun, x2 Husks, Orin, Kwaak, Longchops, Grinders? Is that too many points? Might be close. You can do curious things the in match up with Husks. If you jam them into a Slayer, another one has to come by and kill the Husk. This drops a cloud, so only the original Slayer you were engaging can see through. So if it charges in, and you are fronting with the turtles it can take 2 hits from Retaliatory and Counter, possibly a boosted Pow 16 from Lug, then you Enliven away. At that point you have two Slayers, one in the cloud who killed the Husk and the other who came in. Remove them, rinse repeat a bit. Like I said, it takes a TON of positioning effort, but I think can reasonably be a 50/50ish match up, terrain depending. Also you can explore Boneswarms. Def 13 goes up to a Star Crossed 15 Steady, and at Pow 20 they can actually trade up into the Cryx jacks.

Yeah the dracodile isn't working with Barney. I like at least one bone swarm with him. I would definitely agree on the positioning, it feels like a huge part of his game in general. Something im still working on. Husks seem great with him, and I like them alot, especially in pairs.
I think a large part of that matchup comes down to who goes first. Slayers get to run 16" turn one, which is pretty oppressive when combined with the extra 2" of deployment and carapace. Mat 6 beasts without a lot hit buffs also sucks. I have a regular who owns the list, so I will keep testing against it. He is currently pairing it with skarre 1 dark host. Quite the combo.
