I also play a fair bit of Malifaux. Its my "other" game and the counterpoint to WM/H. Its not got as much of a following in the UK as it seems to have in the US and (oddly) Australia, but in the major towns and cities you can always find people playing and all the major online retailers stock it. My only criticism is that I wish Wyrd would advertise better in the wargaming community. Its an amazing game but they seem to be happy t let it bimble along organically. But at least it still has its Henchmen program. Unlike some companies we could mention........ What do you play? I play Resurrectionists. My favourite masters are Yan Lo and Seamus. Although I seem to play a lot of Henchman Hardcore/25SS games as I am still learning the game in it totality. I think we are going to do one of the campaigns at some point, but I'm not organising it.

Oh that's pretty cool- we've not done any of the campaigns, but maybe someday. One of my opponents is considering hopping into Seamus, but hasn't done so yet. Maybe soon, I'll experience him.

Is there a good place on youtube or fb to watch battle reports of current "top lists" in the meta? Does this game even work that way?

I don't know of any place, I admit. I don't think it's quite relevant- when you play a game, you choose a faction, then generate the win conditions for the game (schemes/strategies), THEN build your army. In this way, both players will know the win conditions and the opponent's faction (although not necessarily the Master)- so your army lists are meant to be fluid.

Wait...you generate scenario and THEN build your list? Wacky.

Yeah- this way pieces that are super specialized are useful to bring, but you don't have to worry about including them in a list and have them useless.
Generally though, this doesn't mean tournament players bring their entire collection- usually people are comfortable with one or two masters to handle all the strategies in the game, and have a pretty good indication of what they are doing to build a list pretty quick (and have a few standard ones ready to go).
In practice, so far- I've honestly just put together a list before showing up, same as I do with Warmachine. But that's because I'm determined to try specific new models I've assembled.

That is actually super cool. So most players have like a "core" list in mind but have models to switch out depending on scenario? That's sort of like adr in a way.

Yeah, I think that's about right- generally you have the most important pieces ready to go, and then sprinkle to handle the scenario after knowing what the scenario is. You may also switch up the upgrades on your Master depending on the scenario, but you'll generally have a good-ish idea ahead of time what options you'll run.

Do tournaments post the scenarios ahead of time?

I don't think so- I THINK when you show up, they may have the Strategies for your games set, but you'll still generate the schemes right before each game (Strategies and Schemes are both part of the "scenario" for Malifaux). It's a pretty smooth, quick process though.

Are people excited for M3e? Really hope that Wyrd use this as an opportunity to up their promotion and comm's. Malifaux is such an innovative game, it deserves to be more popular.

Overall, I'm excited. I own and play primarily Neverborn, so the loss of Lilith 'officially' and Jakob going 10T only hurts a little, but I have enough options that I'm not bent out of shape about it. I think limiting the number of Conditions will be really nice, and I'm excited to give it a go when it does comes out.

I am extremely excited. And holy crap, we have Zipp as our dual now, and Tara as a pure outcast! The only thing that bothers me is that they are making new models in a bigger scale. Might not sit well with the rest of collection.

I'm looking forward to how it turns out. I'm keen to see how the thematic hiring system affects peoples crew selection. I also want new starter boxes and an increased social media and yourtube presence from Wyrd to help sell the game to others

We've got some people playing here in Tampa Bay, but I think most of them are kinda waiting to see how M3E shakes out, so they're in a bit of a lull. I've played the game on and off from time to time.
I played a lot during the time period in which I wasn't happy with 40k or WarmaHordes, but now that those two games have their shit fixed, it's hard for me to really get into Malifaux.. If I want a casual game, I have 40k, if I want a competitive game, I have WarmaHordes. Malifaux doesn't really fit in anywhere for me anymore.
In fact, I just sold off my 10 Thunders to help fund me getting back into WarmaHordes, lol.
