I'm not a stellar painter but my friends wouldn't let me field it until I put some color on it. Now what in blazes do I DO with the thing?

You could run this hilariousness:
Baldur2: Call of the Wild -Megs -Feral -Pureblood Una1 -Storm Raptor 2 Wayfarers Shaper Shifting Stones Ogrun Boker
Some cute interactions here: Arm 21 Raptor! Guardian beast shenanigans —Disrupt enemy heavies when they go into you —Pow 16 With lightning generator during your opponents turn. Also, Pow 12 E leaps and plasma nimbus Bokor can shield guard to Una 1 meaning you can play her up far enough to get work out of guardian beast andnot be super concerned about loosing her to random attacks Birds Eye is really really good on the Raptor. He can scalpel a lot and there is no hiding from him.

I’m no Circle expert, although it’s my second faction (the one I love, but don’t get to play as much). Still, I got Big Bird and I have enjoyed running him in this list:
War Room Army
Circle Orboros - Big Mac & Big Bird
Theme: Call of the Wild 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Kromac, Champion of the Wurm - WB: +28 - Druid Wilder - PC: 0 - Storm Raptor - PC: 38 (Battlegroup Points Used: 28) - Ghetorix - PC: 21 - Warpwolf Stalker - PC: 19 - Gnarlhorn Satyr - PC: 12 - Gorax Rager - PC: 7
Blackclad Wayfarer - PC: 0 Blackclad Wayfarer - PC: 0
Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3 Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3
THEME: Call of the Wild ---
The Big Bird likes Carnage to help him hit and against Warmachine, Vengeful with auto-disruption on the beak attack is fantastic! Another bonus with this list is that I get to play Ghetorix!

I have tried the storm raptor both ways (with and without Una) and I have to say that I was surprised how good it was with Una 1. Though I do have to give Grimolf's list a shout-out in that Kromac 2 fixes all of its problems making it hit more accurately, hit harder, and the retaliatory strike with the beak can make any attacking warjack very sad.

Is the Raptor better here or with Bromac? I'm considering pairing the raptor with some sort of bones Krueger2 control list.

waldenSo keep in mind that anything with the storm raptor that does not have a reasonable MAT buff is going to have issues Because Mat5 is terrible. Megs helps with that a little though. I think its and OK list. Nothing Crazy. Kromac 2 Runs the Raptor Best. Carnage Fixes, Mat, Feat Helps with Durability and Hitting power, and He has vengefull which gives it the ret strike disruption, Lightning Generator Beak attack during your opponents turn. One of the cute things you can do with kromac2, Is put the raptor under Una1, and let it benefit from Ret Strike and Guardian Beast for potential 2 of those disruption Beak attacks in your opponents turn. Hard to leverage, and you lose the feat but gain some cute defensive tech.

Does Una2 play well with a raptor? Since she does well with flyers I thought she'd be an automatic choice. Or is it that she just wants a lot of little flyers rather than tying up all her points in a big one?

One of the guys from loswarmachine.com is playing with the bird, but is using anticipated CID rules. He has put up a battle report.

What did they say they plan to change in the CID? Mat 6, Cost 1 Animus and Range 10, Deceptively Mobile (repo3 for Gargs) and I think a reduction to 37 points.
