So a couple of friends of mine decided to get into Hordes. They were both into Minions and Trollbloods so they purchased some Battlebox-ish things and I realized I only play Minions and Trollbloods. It's a little dull to play the same factions as they do (great excuse to start a new faction) so i decided to get the faction I've wanted since its release, Grymkin. Needless to say, there is no Warlock in the game more awesome than the King of Nothing. So he had to be my first. With him came a Skin & Moans and my absolutely favorite unit in the game; The Neigh-Slayers. So after my first week with Grymkin, this was the result: So up next are some Crabbits for Week2.

So Crabbits are done and added: The whole gang, based and finished. Next up is a Frightmare! Which brings me to my first 15p list: The King of Nothing [+28] - Crabbits (2) [7] - Frightmare [9] - Skin & Moans [15] Neigh Slayers (max) [12]

Damn man, great stuff!
I just finished painting King of Nothing, and he's definitely my favourite model in the line now. So much character.
Keep it up!

Thanks! Yeah, the King of Nothing is hands down my favorite model in the whole game I think. He's just so gorgeous and looks so angry! I think I will go over his face with a few highlights again, he's looking a little flat. Sadly didn't get a Frightmare today so most likely no more updates until next year as I'm spending Yule and New Years with my essay and my family.

I would suggest to try Mad Caps with the KoN. They decide matchups. Too good to pass on in my opinion.
Also maybe exchange one Frightmare for a Rattler for better infantry clear?!

I would suggest to try Mad Caps with Everything. They decide matchups. Too good to pass on in my opinion. Also maybe exchange one Frightmare for a Rattler for better infantry clear?! FTFY. Mad Caps are insanely good. At best, you are constantly chucking walking, talking (at least, they talk to me...) POW14 blasts out that cannot be ignored. At worst, you can constantly be contesting zones with your free solos.

You are both very right and that’s what I thought was missing as well! So I’ve edited my list as to what it looks like now, removed Longfellow and Gorehound for 2 units of Mad Caps. Awesome models as well so would be a shame not to paint and play them

Just dropped by to say I'd take Longfellow anytime over a Trapperkin, especially as a freebie, he is just too good IMO.

Agreed. Trapperkin is interesting as a solo-hunter, but typically (at least for me) it dies quickly even if it reaches the target. Longfellow can do the dame job, from further, and is a legit threat to casters.

On the flip side, I would (and do) totally pay 3 pts for a Trapperkin, while I would never waste 6 points on Longfellow.
Rule of thumb is: use a free slot for Lord Longfellow. If you have the points, spend 3 pts of your actual army points on a Trapperkin.

I don’t know. I really like the trapperkin. The model is also so much better looking than Longfellow. He just doesn’t do it for me

Well I did it...I went and bought the army box... Decided to build these guys and the piggybacks and the Witch Wood. Everybody knows a Cage Rager is silly, but a Fruit basket Rager is awesome. Apples! Apples for the King!
