Oh damn, they look awesome! Even without the colour shift element I love your combination of green and gold metallics, and those glows look fantastic! The purple shifts are the icing on the cake! Have you tried to shoot a video of the models to try to capture the colour change?

That Vlad is very, VERY red! To the point where I have to admit I wish you had picked out more details in a different colour.
The sword looks great, the runes really pop, and the base is fantastic.

Regarding Vlad, I started out by dousing him in GW's new Blood Angel Red contrast paint. I thought about picking out more details in different colors, but decided I didn't want this to be a project that took forever. Speaking of those Contrast paints, they helped make my next project - Legion of Lost Souls - take only a few hours. Primer, Contrast, drybrush. The bases probably took about the same amount of time as the models.

I mean, he's a warcaster, surely it's worth putting some extra time in? Well, I'm a bit obsessive about this sort of thing, it comes at the cost of having actual painted models on the table unfortunately...
Those ghosties look good, certainly better than my attempts at that sort of ghost effect. And those bases are very cool, how did you do them?
So it sounds like the new contrast paints work pretty well then?

Normally I'd agree with you on the extra time, but in this case I hit the "good" level after a relatively short amount of time. Going to great would have dramatically increased the time for a relatively small amount of gain. Since I currently have 40 Satyxis on my table waiting to get painted, I decided it wasn't worth it. I can also spend lots of time on one of the other 6+ unpainted warnouns I own.
To make the bases, I started by cutting out an appropriately-size piece of clear plastic. PP Blister packs make great material for this. I used a circle cutter here, but careful scissoring also works fine. I then took an airbrush stencil and attached it to the back of the base. Airbrush white. Remove stencil. Airbrush blue. The side that I didn't airbrush now has the pattern and a glossy finish. For these guys I used a Fallout Hobbies stencil, but the pattern was a lot smaller than I expected, so I might make my own using contact paper next time.

Reinforcements arrive for my Winter Guard army! Took a fair number of shortcuts with these guys in order to get them done quickly. The WGI are from the very first Mk2 Khador Army Box I bought.

And the first of my Satyxis troops also got finished:

The WG look really good, bright and with good contrast. I think it would have been worth picking out the Khador logos on their hats in brass since you were applying brass to several areas anyway, but other than that they're great!
I'm loving those bright popping colours on the Satyxis! The blue and purple look great together, as do the blue and green. I do feel that the bases are a bit too bright as they threaten to overwhelm the models themselves, but still: great stuff!

Adding to my Flame in the Darkness army, I present Black Bella. As I considered purchasing the official model, I realized that I probably already have a mini that fits the "female swashbuckler" archetype. It is also highly unlikely I will play against someone who cares if I proxy. Original model: www.reapermini.com/miniatures/dhl/latest/03844

Very nice! I LOVE the highlighting on the hair! It's a nice colourscheme, the blueish shading on the white/grey cloth ties it in to the purple very nicely. Great work on the eyes too, they look better than mine usually do (my models' eyes, not my own eyes). Did you use crackle paint on the dagger sheath to give it that cracked leather effect? If so then that's brilliant, if not then how did you do it?
The photo is not doing a very good job of showing off the base; too much glare from the whitish surface behind. Swamp basing isn't exactly a perfect match for the model, I guess the rest of the army is based that way?

The dagger sheath is GW's Wildwood Contrast paint. 2 layers I think. There are some sculpted details that the Contrast paint is picking up.

I see. What's your opinion on the contrast paints? I have yet to try them myself.

tl:dr good for churning out low-tabletop quality models fast
When the Contrast paints were announced, I thought they were going to be a cheap gimmick. After trying them out, I now think they are a unique tool that does a really good job at what they were designed for. What they were designed for is getting a decent paintjob done fast. One coat, applied with care, looks decent. It's kind of like base coat+wash+drybrush all in a single step. See those Winter Guard above? The skin, leather, red and grey were all a single coat of Contrast, and it saved me hours of work. Where Contrast is not great is making models look good. You have most of the drawbacks of a base coat+wash+drybrush style, plus your paints are really expensive. Contrast works best on models with very crisp details ( example) and you have to be careful to control pooling (you want it to pool just a little, but not too much).

Hmm, interesting, maybe I'll need to pick some up after all.
