... though the skin is looking a bit flat.
I'm curious what you mean by this, as I intentionally tried to use both value and color contrast on the skin.

Hmm, maybe it was just the old monitor I was using at the time. I'm looking at the photos again on my phone and I don't remember why I thought it was flat before.

I'm going to file these two under "misc," since they don't really fit thematically with my South Khador army. Lots and lots of drybrushing for the metals. I don't usually do much drybrushing, so I was quite pleased with how this came out. I did end up rushing the cloth a bit to finish by the end of the month for various February challenges. Also, Blaize's face is tiny and squished and hard to work with. With those pauldrons, she gives Vlad a run for his money.

I really like those Morrowans; the silver amd blue looks great! The cloth is a lovely shade of blue, very bright and eye-catching, and the highlights really pop.
I have an ambitious idea for painting my own Gallant, but have not gotten around to it (and probably never will I fear). It also involves a lot of blue.

More-owans I really like painting vibrant blue. Too bad there are no blue armies in Warmachine.

Oh man, those blue robes look fantastic! I need to try to get my own Precursors to look as good (if I ever get around to them, which is looking less and less likely). Can I ask exactly what paints you're using? I really like painting vibrant blue. Too bad there are no blue armies in Warmachine. Yes, it's a real shame.

Can I ask exactly what paints you're using? Probably not super helpful but: the main color is Reaper MSP Desert Sky (unfortunately a limited release color) highlighting up in a couple layers up to MSP Aquamarine Blue and Pure White. For the shade I used MSP Indigo Blue (another limited release color). I usually try to include this detail on my website posts, so you can check those out.
At this point I have so many paints that I try not to buy more unless I have a specific need - but I go to ReaperCon every year and get about a dozen new paints in my swag bag, so they are turning into a larger and larger portion of my collection.

Holy crap, those blue flames are incredible! They look fantastic against the orange hull, and the way you start with a minimal but light blue then then blend into a dark black not only looks brilliant and somehow eldrich (like actual black fire), it allows the blue flames to look bright despite being set against a very bright vibrant orange! I am now deeply envious and desperately wish to steal this!

Steal away! I got the idea for blue flames from a much better painter than myself, so I can't even claim full credit for them.

Today I've got a giant pile of Doom Reavers for you. I've got one unit of regular Doom Reaver Swordsmen and two units of Raging Heroes Blade Maidens Fenris and genderbent Fenris Sadly, Maximus can't play with all his Doom Reaver friends, but I painted him anyway. And an objective marker for them to fight over More pictures at wickedpaintah.wordpress.com/2019/04/22/doom-reaver-megapost/

Very nice! I can't believe you free-handed those faces on the swords! I love the glowing eyes on that Reaver, and the objective marker is brilliant! Did you make it yourself?

Thanks, the soul-faces were fun to do although they took a long time. I got the idea for painting distorted blobs (ie, easy) based on some Old Witch 2 art. The objective is from Age of Sigmar.

"etc" now include Cryx. Just finished up a slew of Cryx 'jacks. Most of the work is Green Stuff World's Color Shift paint. Martian Green is the color I used, which I think is a green flake in a purple paint. It shifts between green and purple depending on the angle you view it. It's more obvious in person, but you can see the color shifts if you look closely. The bases are the CMON/MAS bases, plank bases because I'm building for the Satyxis pirate theme. Their "large" packs come with 1x 50mm and 6x 40mm, which is a terrible combination for WMH, so I will need to figure out what to do for the other two heavies. I've got the new HIPS Slayer, the Slayer and Reaper out of Mk2 starter, and some plastic chickenjacks.
