So despite the fact that Reinholdt cannot reload Crosse if he does Death Dealer, I still think he is a great choice for him. The extra shot is still great on non-Death Dealer turns thanks to Black Boon, he can auto-remove stealth which Gastonne cannot innately ignore, making him a lot scarier, also the lucky charm can can give a re-roll for the Dark Fire he needs to get 4 souls to do Death Dealer later that turn. what do you guys think? is Reinholdt worth it, or is the free upkeep from Sylys better?

I think for all of the reasons you listed, Reinholdt is the better choice. Most of Sylys' abilities are wasted whereas the gobber is useful on every turn.

Annnnnd yet another way I've been cheating. Dammit. I hate working out the kinks of a new list.

btw, reinhot was not added to LR until after the Christmas CID completed. he was not included throughout the entire process. he was mainly allowed specifically for crosse2 because of all teh good feedback and batreps we did on it so take advantage

I don't take either. I use a Siege Crawler to remove stealth.

I agree that Reinholdt is the better take.
I suppose this is off topic, but i'll ask anyhow: What are people doing for jack loadouts with Crosse2 ? I haven't hit on one i love yet. I've been playing around with combinations of Mules / Mariners / Galleon / Nomads, but haven't really struck anything i like.

I've been playing around with combinations of Mules / Mariners / Galleon / Nomads, but haven't really struck anything i like. Well i see running two mariners with hi. And a rover. Total kit takes up 14 of your army points. Mariner benifits 1. Spd 5, range 15 gun. (20 inch threat) at a aoe 3 pow 14. 2. Thresher attack linked to melee weapon at p+s 17. 3. 14 points each. 4. Amphibious. 5. When a worrior model is base to base with a mariner, both beco.e immune to knockdown. Disadvantages of a mariner 1. Armor 17.(really low) 2. Gun can only be used if a worrior model is within 1 inch of it. Rover is a sheild guard with many attacks. Crosse2 is great for fire group +2 range to guns. Alternatively you can use a combination of Buccaneers and Freebooters for a 1 2 knockdown and cleanup combo.

Sylys isn't worth taking of all you use him for is a free upkeep. At least one of his other abilities needs to see regular play in order for him to be a compelling choice. Sylys is only really worth taking with folks who are casting spells regularly (ie - casters like Fiona and such)
Again - one free quasi-focus isn't worth a solo slot.

This is a great point worth repeating: its really simple on its face, but for a long time (probably due to my Cygnar / Squire addiction) +1 effective focus was the balls. The fact is the squire did some other very, very important stuff, but the free focus on a few turns was the flashiest. When i eased off playing cygnar and started playing other factions more i had to retrain my brain that the "free focus effectively" was not worth a solo slot de-facto. My rule with Sylas is that he's worth taking if i expect to use the upkeep effect every turn, and then one or both of his other effects 2 or more turns over the course of the game.

I put together a pure gunline list for crosse in irregulers theme using reinholdt and mariners.
Crosse wj 29 Reinholt 4 Marinerx2 28 Buccaneer 6 Eiryss1 free Taryn free Croes cuthroats 16 Idrians+ua x2 30 ua's free Horgenhold artilleryx2 12 Aiyanna and holt 8
Dont think it has enough anti stealth besides 4 aoes. However, Ghost walk helps with jammers. As much pewpew as i can fit into the list and lots of assasination threat. Will focus 1-2 heavies off board per turn and destroy infantry in theory. Wish we had powerful ranged light jacks outside of rhulic (grenadier, chargers, harpy, gun bunny)
