No. Only at damage roll, that exceed ARM the Book takes 1 dmg. In deadly shot you deal damage "instead of making damage roll"

Kell can take out the book by himself in one round if he can get off a Dual Shot on it since he effectively just marks off 6 auto boxes of damage. Not sure this is right. The book can only ever suffer 1 dmg from an attack regardless, so even with dual attack, you are looking at 2 dmg. Its what makes the book such a good tank for contesting multiple zones. Ancient Shroud: When a damage roll against this model exceeds its ARM, it suffers 1 damage point instead of the total rolled. Deadly Shot: Instead of making a damage roll to resolve an attack with this weapon, you can chose to have a model hit by this weapon suffer 3 damage points instead. A model disabled by this attack cannot make a Tough roll. Looks like you're wrong.

Nope deadly shot works fine on the book. Ancient shroud limits damage rolls exceeding the covenant's armor to 1 point. Kell's two Deadly shots entirely bypass this by replacing the damage rolls with three automatic damage on each shot. Edit: derp not looking at the next page

I wish you were right, it feels wrong much the same way as electro leaps not letting HR/Testament collect souls, but... The damage is not from a damage roll Ancient Shroud - When a damage roll against this model exceeds its ARM, it suffers 1 damage point instead of the total rolled The damage from Deadly Shot is not a damage roll Deadly Shot - Instead of making a damage roll to resolve an attack with this weapon, you can choose to have a mode hit by this weapon suffer 3 damage points instead. Worth mentioning that in Faithful masses mec units with priest count for free points. So there's that.

I learned the Auto damage vs. Ancient Shroud the hard way. Those Widow-makers (plus the solo) shot my poor book keeper dead in one turn.

-Forge Guard have a place and are hard-hitting, but they are slow. As most of our faction is also slow and hard hitting, they don't necessarily help plug a hole we have. Pocket slams are good, though. They work well with Harbinger, I've found.
