Back to the topic of Ashlynn 2: I think the most likely thing to happen is that she'll lose a hand, change gender, shorten her name, and upgrade her arsenal. I already have my miniature ready:
She'll also become the new king of Llael. Hail to the King baby!
But didn't his gun awaken his warcaster powers as I understand?
Also I might run Precursor (you used to be able to with Constance but now you can't for llael ) and you can't take alexia or Thsramites
We're talking Mercs in general, not Llael in specific here. And due to many different influences, such as Orgoth, Thamarite, and many other influences, it is entirely likely for a Llaelese like Crosse to have acquired an odd weapon or technique to either survive or have vengeance on oppressors. Just look at how far the Ragman has come, for one example.
I do like the idea of Llaelese cortices being implanted on hodge-podge Khador hulls, or even a Vanguard sporting shield arms of a Khador Devastator or Protectorate Vigilant.
Speaking of acquiring Khador gear, what if Ashlynn2 got her hands on a Doom Reaver blade, or similarly Orgoth?
Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?
They called me crazy? They called me insane? THEY CALLED ME LOONEY!! and boy, were they right."
Ragman with Pathfinder, with Gun Mages seems nasty... Bone Shaker also seems quite effective. unfortunately he's quite a high priority Target. And probably would need screening with Trenchers or other infantry; thus probably running him with the aforementioned Gun Mages a little risky.
Ashlynn changing from a duelist to a hammer with a Reaver blade would be quite a significant change..
What is Freedom worth? is it worth Becoming lost to Darkness?
If she found Some Mcguffin (like Crosse and his gun) well that changes someone who fights with every shred of her being to be somebody who relies on some device to win..
It's like her Becoming a Protectorate partisan (not something I can see)
Now if she Found some Orgoth device that she could unleash in Khador proper.. Well she probably would be very desperate.. but as Cygnar is pulling strings on the puppet king in exile... maybe she has come to the conclusion its time to find new allies
Though running Ashlynn without the theme is not not something personally I'd do. But to each there own.
Makes tons of sense to have necromancers in The Resistance, honestly. They're desperate, and I wouldn't be surprised if that desperation caused Gastonne to make some dark choices.
It is a tale. Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I suppose if the Llaelise don't raise em, Cryx will.
One day I might write more battle reports, but today is not that day!

But how many "Undead" factions does Warmachine/Hordes need?
We have Cryx, we have Blindwater, even Grymkin could be considered undead.
While having masses of expendable bodies to throw at your enemy is a viable tactic. I would prefer if they went to some other faction for aid and not have mini Cryx
