I'm taking Fiona to a local tourney, and I want to include the great cannon.
I'm also taking rock bottom and eilish,I know I could take dougal, but I'm not a massive fan.
Anyone else got a way of making it better?

The go to Aiyana and Holt should be mentioned.

I feel that between Nonokrian Brand and Rockbottom, there isn't much else that is needed to 'improve' the cannon. It's already powerful and has an easy enough time getting it's shots off. I don't even bother bringing Rockbottom anymore as it's just overkill when I could use the points for a better solo for my needs (like Hawk as my main Telgesh Mark target). Are you using other Sea Dog units; if so then keep Rockbottom, otherwise I would leave him at home.

At the moment Fiona + commodore is my go against Cryx. I agree that most of the time Rockbottom is overkill, but I take him just to enable the casterkill. For example Denny1 is def 16, the commodore would need 8s to hit, or 6s with rockbottom. Without the dwarf, i would probably not even try.

i like where this thread is going. don't take rockbottom with the cannon. but make sure you bring rhupert to give the cannon pathfinder so you can shoot denny in case she hides behind a forest in the board center. you'll have to wait a turn to shoot though. should be fine

Not much punch there mate, though i doubt that you would drop this against hi arm, so maybe its not that much of a problem if paired well with something more damaging. Im also suprised with your choice of solos and warjacks :/
Like the recursion, Fiona and cannon though!

It's paired with a Jack heavy Magnus list, which is use against hard targets.
The Fiona list would be for if I'm looking for the scenario win, hence the reason for doc and grog..giving 4+ no knock down,Hawke gives them an extra damage DIE and decent arc node.
Rupert either gives Alexia and unit tough,or dishes concealment out to the pirates,Kell is there just to snipe and eilish is there for puppet master.
I've got 3 ways of knocking stuff down, which combined with freebooters is a lot of punch.

I like the list concept. I play something very similar with Shae from time to time. Do you feel like Fiona has given you better matchups than Shae? Also, I completely agree on the Freebooters and Bucs providing plenty of punch.
Only slightly related but possibly relevant: I have found that bringing Alexia to back up a unit that already has recursion (Forge Guard with BE) is mostly overkill. I end up with too many guys in too little space. Not sure if you've experienced something similar or if the non-automatic nature of their recursion changes things, but worth a mention.

The list was originally made for shse, but dropped him for Fiona,my local club hate her feat.
I've yet to use share.
I completely agree with the overkill, but for 10 points, can't really grumble

The list I run is meant as an assassination list but has proved to be a scenario piece too, in a pinch. It used to run a Bokur in it, but then I transferred it over to the Irregulars theme, lost the Bokur, but gained a Buccaneer, Eilish and Meg with a Freebooter.
Mercenary - Fiona Irregulars
Theme: The Irregulars 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Fiona the Black - WJ: +31 - Sylys Wyshnalyrr, The Seeker - PC: 4 - Mariner - PC: 14 (Battlegroup Points Used: 14) - Nomad - PC: 11 (Battlegroup Points Used: 11) - Nomad - PC: 11 (Battlegroup Points Used: 6) - Nomad - PC: 11 - Buccaneer - PC: 6
Eiryss, Mage Hunter of Ios - PC: 0 First Mate Hawk - PC: 4 Gorman Di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist - PC: 4 Savio Montero Acosta - PC: 0 Dirty Meg - PC: 3 - Freebooter - PC: 9 Eilish Garrity, the Occultist - PC: 0 Gobber Tinker - PC: 2
The Commodore Cannon & Crew - Commodore & 3 Crewmen: 7 Idrian Skirmishers - Leader & 9 Grunts: 15 - Idrian Skirmisher Chieftain & Guide - Chieftain & Guide: 5
THEME: The Irregulars
It's turned out to be lots of fun with many ways to threat the assassination between her spell slinging and the quality of guns. I admit the damage output isn't spectacular, but that was never my intent. I have found this list has game into some surprising match ups, mainly Hailey2 which surprised me the most.
Now, when it comes to the cannon, as mentioned already, Rockbottom is overkill. Someone mentioned that hitting Denny on a 6 (because of Rock) is better than an 8. Well, there is Affliction too which lowers your target's DEF. So, if accuracy is your biggest concern, she has some built in.

If you're going to take Rockbottom for the cannon (and don't get me wrong RAT 10 is p worth it) then you can also take the Devil's Shadow Mutineers to benefit from rockbottom as well, as Mar loves overtake and murderous, Zira loves +2/+2; and you can also stuff in Bradigan to be a double weaponmaster alongside the DSMs.

If you make a full list of pirates and happen to have 3 points, bradigan brings more threat than anastasia probably, sure. But if you are putting him in before that, I worry we are in purely theorymachine territory.
