How are you guys building (if at all) Sev1 now that all of the themes have been released? Sev1 was probably my favorite caster in MK2 but I am not seeing him on the table much since MK3 hit.
He makes a 2 man Idrian CRA hit at rat 8, pow 16! I think he might be pretty solid with a revelator, as shooting out rat 6 pow 15's/18's seems pretty solid. The only issue I see with him is that he doesn't improve the speed of anybody, and old man stats basically dictate a need for cover and shield guards. He seems like he could be pretty solid into basically any of the theme lists.
I kind of like the idea of Defender's Warded TFG in Guardians of the Temple, and a free +3 mat/+5 damage swing for his battlegroup in Faithful masses for almost no investment. (vengeance/battle/eye).

Sev1 is my main caster since the beginning of mk3 and he's amazing. I started with a mixed list (Idrians, Flamebringers, shooty acks), moved to Creator's Might gunline and now I am transplanting the idea into Exemplar Interdiction for better theme bonuses and better access to warrior models (at the cost of better Focus support). The only moment any of those struggled was when the final, fast version of SR2017 dropped and I was still playing the slow Creator's Might gunline.
The common thing in those lists are Blessing of Vengeance, Reckoners and Redeemers. Especially Redeemers are really great in their role of heavy-killers as they inflict quite a lot of damage for their low cost.
The Eye of Menoth makes everything more efficient, so I guess all units and warjacks can feel like they do better under Severius. Immunity to spells is excellent against many casters. And the feat is absurdly good, I often take Sevvy1 into certain match-ups just because he can counter crazy enemy feats or CTRL spells with his own. It never fails to annoy people, when they have to account for 4" lost of CTRL when they use a defensive feat for example.
No idea why people don't play him in your area, I think he's a top caster.

He did the thing we he got as far forward as he could, then popped feat to lock me out of zones etc... Except Severius pops feat and now that warjack that was a little over 8" away can now charge Magnus

Yup, this ability is pretty unique and catches people off-guard even if they've been informed about the way it works before the start of the game.

I think Sev1 would have a strong game in a Faithful Masses list. You're given a wall that you can place to give him some sweet cover. The unit options are just perfect for eye of menoth. And some very good solo options.
If you want a faster list I would say Guardians. And his +1/+1 might be what the list needs.

Sevy1 is a quality turd-polisher, so he's pretty good with just about anything.

My new pSevvy list is in the creator's might theme with BoV, 2x Reckoners, 2x Redeemers (under pTristan), Idrians + support.
Being able to take Idrians in the warjack theme as 'mercs' really helps to fill the gaps that the theme suffers. Also Idrians love a warcaster with Defenders ward.
Not actually run the list yet, but I think it should be pretty good.

I've been running a list I call "#Sevelator" lately, in prep for the Revelator.
It's Sev1 in Flameguard theme with (off the top of my head) min TFG, max Flame Bringers, Daughters, Nicia, Crusader, Blessing, Revelator, Mechaniks, Wracks, min choir.
It's not the best list I have, but it might be my best Revelator list I've come up with so far. Nicia is one of my favorite flag control pieces in the whole game, ambushing daughters are silly, being able to splash Defender's Ward onto the TFG or the Flame Bringers as appropriate with Blessing... Backed up by a big shooty anchor with Vision and Mechaniks. It's good stuff.

Sev1 is very very intruiging not only because of Eye of Menoth and DW but the feat is such an excellent counterfeat. Reduces everyone control area by 4 inches and if your opponent doesnt watch out will cause Warjacks/Beasts to be out of that area...

I always forget about the jacks/warbeasts being in ctrl!
I really like Sevi 1 in either new Guardians (Tough, Iron Zeal'd, DW'd TFG are just amazing), or in Creators Wrath - Tho I prefer to fit the battle engine in to give Sevi1 somewhere to hide out.

One thing to remember with the Sevvy feat though is that if you feat first and they have a defensive feat that affects for a round (and is not a Nova) once your feat expires their feat "turns back on" when their CTRL area pops up to full again.

That's why it is important to keep your feat when playing against a caster with a defensive one and use it on the right moment when your opponent has a offensive feat.
