Very interesting! The only potential problem I see with the above list is lack of units for SR2017 scenario scoring. You might be able to contest against armies without extreme threat ranges, though.

Yea, the pairing would probably be either kae double sentinel in theme or ossyan in defenders with a ton of dudes.

isotope While the lack of units scare me a bit, especially in the context of SR 2017, 4 heavies + AFG are a force to be reckoned with to be sure. Please let us know how you fare!
Speaking of which, I'll be playing Helly again on Saturday, this time with a different list:
Helynna 75 pts, Legions of Dawn
2x Manticores 1x Hydra 1x Banshee 1x Chimera
3x Arcanist Mechaniks 1x Scyir +1x Griffon Full Sentinels + CA
I don't feel like it's the most optimal list ever but I'm essentially working with the models I have. Plus I'm really interested to see Legions of Dawn in action. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

To me, you should be getting SOOOoooo much more out of marshalling the Hydra, and since you only have the one Scyir, it would make more sense to me to marshal a jack that "keeps pace" with the Sentinels, rather than Rocketman.

GreatBigTree I hear you. I haven't played with jack marshals yet and I was a bit scared to put an expensive jack like the Hydra on the Scyir, although it makes a lot of sense to give him a mostly shooty jack (can't wait to get those Vyre ones). Plus with flank and crush the Hydra will not be as pillow fisted in melee, if it comes to that. I'll swap the Griffon with the Hydra for my game today and we'll see how it goes!

Not only can the Hydra shoot but it also keeps any focus your Arcanists give it on previous turns, meaning that you can get the full 3 focus + Concentrated Power + Crush from the Marshal. 5 attacks (assuming you use a focus to charge) at POW 19 with Flank should do significant damage.

If you bring lanyssa and they trigger the drive it's a 15" free charge threat.

Thank you all for your comments! The Hydra marshaled under the Scyir was indeed the star of the match, destroying a full unit of stormblades by itself and then teaming up with a Griffon to wear down my opponent's storm lances. Between my arcanists and its ability to gain/keep focus it was always running full. Even the Scyir was able to charge and get his hands dirty.
While I made a few mistakes, like letting Stormlances getting a charge on my two manticores, I was quite satisfied with the list and I didn't feel restrained by the theme. I think Legions of Dawn might be Helly's home for me from now on. The +2" deployment helps the army get to the objectives quicker, which helps with the relative slowness of the Dawnguard units and the fact Helynna has no way of boosting the speed of her army, barring her battlegroup. Plus the Scyir is definitely worth free. The flank aspect of the theme didn't get play but it might be nice to have once in a while. Overall a pretty solid theme for Helynna.
