Hi fellas! When Sylys Wyshnallyr first came out, I had a laugh at his pose, because he looked like he's playing on an air-guitar. I browsed the Rertibution models and noticed two other models with poses that looked like they're playing musical instruments. One of them is Narn, who looked to me like a drummer holding two drumsticks in his crossed arms, and the other is the House Shyeel Artificer who I think can be easily converted to hold a microphone and do some vocals. I played with the tought it would be very cool if I just do these conversions and make a metal-band out of Retribution models, but I never wanted to collect them. (I like their fluff, and some models, but that's all) So I purchased only Sylys for my mercenaries, painted him, and made the guitar-conversion, but after all I shelved the idea ... Until now, because with the coming of Company of Iron, this concept can became reality, as I can assemble a functional CoI list containing the models mentioned, (ok, the Sylys model will proxy a House Shyeel Magister, but whatever. Also it will need an additional warjack -maybe a Gorgon- who will function as the "Roadie" of the band) so I start purchasing the other models, and finalized the conversion and paintjob on Sylys. I think it tourned out pretty well, I already won the painting competition of a Journeyman League with him. So without further ado, I present you SillyWilly, bearer of the Pick of Nyrro, and the first member of the Sons of Nyrro metal band. (Yeah, I know the speaker is very ugly, but I tried to compensate it with the paintjob, and the freehand on the back ) The others are still waiting for a paint-stripping, (and I still haven't bought the jack) but I plan to post the whole band here eventually. This will take a bit of a time, as I have other running projects, but I hope I can start the second conversion (the Artificer) soon.

Thanks for the responses, I'm very glad you like the concept. As I said, don't stand on your toes waiting for updates as I'm a bit busy lately, but I already did the paint stripping on the Artificer, and starting to get rid of his hood (cause I want to attach a long metal hair to his head) and made some plans for the Roadie: I'm certain he will be a Gorgon, I just have to made a new head for him. (Btw what kind of head he has?! It's like a stick emerging from his neck. I cannot imagine how Retri players accustome to this. ) So I think I'll make a Gorgon-ish head for him (not the medusa-Gorgon, but the metal bull Gorgon from D&D) I already saw a nice minotaur model on the net, where the minotaur's horns are basically the barrels of a cannon. ( i.pinimg.com/474x/ea/68/43/ea68435a4f1135c1c3b9d72da0a53108--minotaur-picture-design.jpg) I think I'll start from there and build the head from an Infinity Guijia TAG head, and some tau drone gun parts.

Got some unexpected free time today, and because I found the necessary parts, I made some progress on the Roadie instead of the Artificer. As I said, I tried to make him resemble the bull-like Gorgon from D&D (because bulls are frikkin metal), but he will have guns instead of horns. (because by the stats, the Gorgon warjack has a gun, but the model doesn't have any) I think it turned out pretty well. If you wonder, the head comes from a Guijia TAG (used in the "Infinity" wargame by the Yu Jing faction) and the guns are random Tau drone guns. And yes, I turned the hip part backwards, because I don't want to hear Viagra jokes when I put him on the table. The only thing I'm not sure is about the shoulder pads. I think they are a bit unnecessary, but i admit the model looks much bigger and stompier with them. What do you think, should I put them on before I start the painting? Until the next update, don't forget ... Never look into the eye of the Gorgon! Cause he'll blow your head clean off!

Great idea with the guns, he looks cool! I like his pose. I feel like the shoulder pads could work; they should make him look bigger and bulker, plus shoulder pads are kinda metal, right? Also his "top surface" is looking a touch plain right now, shoulder pads might fix that.

Made some progress with the Artificer conversion(he now holds his mic, but still need to do the long metal hairdo) and the paintjob of the Roadie. I also put together the drum kit of Narn, so you can see the whole band together. Behold! And some additional pictures of the Roadie(there's a lot of work to do, it's roughly 60% done, but at least you can see it's color scheme)

I feel like the roadie needs a bit more to fit with the rest. Like some music cases to carry our something like that. Or a sons of nyro t shirt
Great stuff though

Looking good so far! I feel like the Roady might benefit from a bit more detail; maybe some spikes, studs, chains, that sort of thing?

I feel like the roadie needs a bit more to fit with the rest. Like some music cases to carry our something like that. Or a sons of nyro t shirt Great stuff though Thanks for the feedback, I already tought about he could carry a box (for the instruments and stuff) with both hands, and I tried the pose, but it looked silly plus the box covered more than half of the model, so I rejected the idea. (It is enough that poor Narn will be covered by his drum kit, I didn't want to do that with the Roadie too) I think you're right on that he could use some extra bits, but I don't want to add anything drastic as I already did most of the paintjob. Still I think I could add spiky bracers onto his forearm, (they're pretty plain at now)and a backstage pass hanging around his neck. The chains from Rocinante's cannon is still in the bitz box I think, maybe that could be attached to one of the shoulder pads without ruining the paint on it. And there will be a freehand "Roadie" sign of Iosan glyphs on one of his shoulder pads, but I have to finish the basic paintjob first.

Like he almost looks like he's carrying a guitar case except the guitar case is not in his hand. Like if you can find something with a strap he could be dragging it by the strap

Not sure if I want to do that. I have a feeling he would look like an old lady with bags.

Hi again! As you may have heard, PP will organize a "Show your CoI group to the community, and we put the most cool in the fluff" kind of event, with a deadline of Dec 1st. Unfortunately it's for US citizens only, but it's not hold me back to send them at least a picture of the band, so I promise I'll do somehow the whole gang's paintjob before the end of November. Btw, I finished the conversion of the Artificer at Saturday, and as I already had the momentum, also started his paintjob. It's lower body is far from done, but the upper body/face is almost finished, so I thought it's worth to share a picture. Sorry for the quality, but I had to take it quickly before the sun went down:
