Although I doubt the usefulness of the Express Team, but boosted Critical Knockdown shot with push effect seems not so bad, and Grievous Wounds is interesting too. I still prefer Ashley, though.

Ashley seems worse in almost every meaningful way. The only thing I can think of is stealth and repo, which is cool, but not as good as dig in and boosts.

If you desperately wanted Grievous Wounds in say Sons or Storm Division, then yeah take Ashley, but in Gravediggers The Express Team is a no brainer, just for the reasons it contributes towards free points and does not take up you merc solo slot.

Yeah, and the pow is high enough to usually be able to apply even a single damage to ARM20 jack/beasts, so grievious is usually going to be up and running on them.

No need to damage to apply Grievous Wound, a hit is enough.
I plan to play/buy two Express Team unit, as it stands... this unit seems to be the key to make a Gravedigger "decent" against high ARM, with applying Grievous wound to let the army two-round enemy models with high ARM (or push it out of scenario zone).

I find it funny that The Express Team is 5 points and Alten 6. The change to huge bases becoming immune to Grievous Wounds would have been enough to balance Alten, but in classic PP style they had to nerf from both ends...

Sick lists, I just don't like the espress team that much on paper as I think i already have mid level pow shooting on most gravediggers lists, i would go a bit more BG heavy. But they all look solid and I would try theme out Express teams were easily the best model released and probably the best unit in Gravediggers. They camp zones like a boss (because 2 man unit is amazing for capping circles). They Contest like bosses (Because Def 17 arm 13 with boxes and Tough), they push models out of zones (with thunderbolt at a boost to get that sweet knockdown), they have a good chance of starting an assassination (boosted Knockdown gun) and they grievious models preventing healing (such as if you shoot them with long gunners and core out their cortex as you choose the location). Express teams are monsters. Love them long time.
Head over to CID the Express team were barely unplayable over there.

They were pretty trash until they gained Grievous Wounds and Pathfinder

A unit that has dig-in at will doesn't get that much from pathfinder... Check out Ocativious's post, he mentions Grievous in the end and it doesn't look like the best feature in here. Grievous was and is IMO out of character and not an ability that should be out and about... Especially since all themes now have access to mercs/minions...
But hey, changing gears at every turn brings this about.
I'm not convinced with the longgunners but these guys, trenchers the solos and the improved charging grenadiers look really good.

Apart from the ability to move through forests and terrain unimpeded...
I can't speak for anyone else but I think Grievous Wounds is their best feature and the only real reason I would take them. With regards to it being out of character, in the fluff the Rhaevan Express is used to hunt buffaloes, it is plausible that the calibre of the round causes wounding so severe it cannot be healed, or maybe they use hollow point ammunition.

wow, grievous is just on hit, that looks sick against hordes or repair heavy lists! TET is surely solid, probably overshadowing the T.cannon by a long shot. Sure, the cannon has a pretty decent hitting power, but a charger does damage generally much better, and is a more reliable piece overall. They contribute to free points sure, but i'd then take TET anyway.
Alten double nerf was unnecessary, 6 points are now too much for the poor lad.

New idea for list. Been listening to alot of player feedback and this is what ive settled on so far. Maybe do 2 min squads for trencher infantry, more wa, and considering anastasia.
Haley 3 wj 28 Grenadierx3 27 Finn free Patrol dog 2 Hitch 4 Trencher infantry 16 Ua free Wa 2 Long gunners+ua x2 44 Trencher express team free Express team 5

It doesn't supposed to be against Protectorate force(especially jack heavy list), right? If the opponent doesn't bring much jacks, and if you have no problem to shoot them, then it would be a solid list.

I tried this list vs Rasheth in Winds of Death (1 derp turtle only):
Theme: Gravediggers 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Major Prime Victoria Haley - WJ: +25 - Echoes - Grenadier - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9) - Grenadier - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9) - Thorn - PC: 13 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Charger - PC: 9
Captain Maxwell Finn - PC: 0 Patrol Dog - PC: 2 Ragman - PC: 4 Trench Buster - PC: 5 Trench Buster - PC: 5 Commander Anson Hitch - PC: 4
Trencher Infantry - Leader & 9 Grunts: 16 - Trencher Infantry Rifle Grenadier - PC: 2 Trencher Long Gunners - Leader & 9 Grunts: 18 - Trencher Long Gunner Officer - PC: 4 Trencher Cannon Crew - Gunner & 2 Grunts: 0
It did well. Not having Arcane Shield for the echoes is a huge loss, almost to the degree that I want to drop the theme. I do think that’s an overreaction though.
Cannon was slightly underwhelming. Alexia1 would be cool for the list potentially. Trencher Long gunners are great. Normal trenchers still good.
We had to cut the game a bit short but by then I had gained a significant attrition advantage and was starting to slowly pull ahead on scenario.
I was entirely uninterested in trying the express team before reading the thread, now I’m unsure.

I'm super excited for Gravediggers and think that the Express Team and Trencher Long Gunners are going to be the centerpiece of a Haley3 list. In lieu of that, though, I'm playing the following list: conflictchamber.com/#c1201b_-0FeS9g9g9gaminifieie8May9U9V9X9U9V9XCygnar Army - 70 / 75 points [Theme] Gravediggers !!! Your army contains a pre-release entry. (Haley 3) Major Prime Victoria Haley [+25] - Grenadier [9] - Grenadier [9] - Grenadier [9] Captain Maxwell Finn [0(6)] Commander Anson Hitch [4] Patrol Dog [2] Trench Buster [0(5)] Trench Buster [0(5)] Lady Aiyana & Master Holt [8] - Captain Jonas Murdoch [4] Trencher Infantry (max) [16] - Trencher Infantry Officer & Sniper [5] - Trencher Infantry Rifle Grenadier (2) [4] Trencher Infantry (max) [16] - Trencher Infantry Officer & Sniper [5] - Trencher Infantry Rifle Grenadier (2) [4] Had a lot of fun with it last night. Definitely have a loooooot to learn with this list as positioning is very difficult with it and very important as well. Getting to flank stuff with a Trench Buster is pretty fantastic as well. Had to do an all-in assassination attempt on the new Blindwater CID stuff with the new caster and it was brutal. Only needed one more attack and I would have had it so I was super happy with how it actually ended up doing. Aiyana and Holt are really interesting and fun to play. I missed both Kiss targets I tried to hit, which was really lame and had a big impact on my assassination attempts. I think it has a ton of potential, though, and will help me learn how to use Trencher Infantry effectively.
