Hey guys,
I'm attemting a first foray with the Protectorate and have precious few models to start with. Here's my first go:
High Examplar Kreoss Bless of Vengeance Crusader Vanquisher Full Examplar Errants plus US Min Choir
I have yet to play a single game in MK3 so I have no real feel of how the game has changed. Can you let me know if this list has any traction at 35pts?
Thanks!

I'd honestly suggest a few 0 point games to get a grip on focus and the basics.
Your collection looks a little eclectic. Blessing works better with Severius and Errants are considered a little below the curve at the moment. They will get work done with Kreoss, but they won't be at their best.

Have you played during Mk2? If not, I agree with spideredd, play some 0-point or battlebox games to learn the rules first.
If you are returning player: I personally think Errants are fine as long as you're caster has Defender's Ward. I'm going to take a guess that the Blessing of Vengeance is just a converted Revenger, so I say downgrade back. Then I would drop the "UA" or CA(command attachment as their called now) and use those those 7pts to upgrade your choir to full, and upgrade the Crusader to the named version bonded to Kreoss, Fire of Salvation.
This way you have a fast(er) heavy melee jack, a semi-decent gunner/all-rounder, a bare bones arc node. I also like to take extra choir for casualties, and jamming.

Believe me, I know how eclectic my list is:P I just bought a small PoM lot as I'm definitely a gamer on a budget here.
What makes the Errants a thing of yesterday? Is it because they don't crack armor well enough for the current meta? I'll try as suggested to get a few games in a 0pts. Could you give me decent list to play with at 35pts?
Thanks a ton!

Well the exemplar errants are aren't bad with Kreoss 1. They love defender's ward and can give the jacks a screen.
Blessing of Vengeance is a bit of an odd choice. What is your reasoning for it.
Maybe swap out Blessing with a Redeemer and two wracks.
I too would recommend a few 0 point games or at the very least look for the tutorial that came with the battlenboxes just so you understand the basics.

Kreoss1 Revenger(non-named Blessing of Vengeance) Vanquisher Fire of Salvation(Named Crusader) Max Errants Max Choir 35pts Errants are taken because they have middling defensive stats at 12/16 and their UA doesn't really add much to the unit. In Mk2 Purity was always on as opposed to a once per game minifeat. In Mk3 most people are taking Idrians because a recent change allowed them into any army, even supposedly restricted theme lists. They have better shooting, comparable melee, and higher DEF. Their CA also can temporarily buffed into a respectable DEF17 with no blast damage and also gives them Reposition:3" as well as Prey for higher damage. Just pull up the cards for Errants and Idrians on the card database, then you can see for yourself the comparison: cards.privateerpress.com/

People poo poo them because they were super awesome in mk2. Their role is to hold up enemy models. They can get some good work done. Their big thing is denial of what you opponent kills. As far as a good 35 point list is kinda of hard as it's not a level meny players play at and I don't think the game is balanced for that point level as well. Really the main point of that level is to ease into the learning units and getting used to more models.

Errants are fine. Ua gives them assault which is nice. Solo gives then unyielding which is less than stellar on .5 inch reach. They do have some nifty tricks with call to sacrifice.

It's a competent collection for a start. As suggested earlier, just use Blessing as a regular Revenger if you want and also try to play smaller games in the beginning (starting with no more than 10pts and playing quite a few games of 20-25pts in the beginning) It's a complicated game, so time spent learnign the basics in a limited environment wont go to waste.
Errants have a good synergy with Kreoss1, due to Defender's Ward. Also his feat helps them kill enemy infantry with shooting, which isn't very easy with RAT 6 and relatively short range.
A 25pts starting list could look like that:
Kreoss1 Crusader Vanquisher max Errants +UA min Choir Wrack/Mechanik (Investing in one/both of those will be a good idea in almost every list you will ever make!)
Note, that the same list in the Exemplar Interdiction theme force will grant you an additional, free solo (for example an Errant Seneschal or Knight Seneschal or maybe a Vassal of Menoth) in addition to two other nice bonuses : Blessed on warjack weapons and extra 2" of deployment.
You'll just have to inform your opponent it's an Exemplar Interdiction list and you can enjoy your free solo and other theme bonuses.
For a 35pts list just add your Revenger.

Thanks for all the input guys! As for my reasoning for putting Blessing in there... I just don't have the Revenger at the moment and Blessing is one of the few models I own, so I tossed it in. The pain of being a gamer on a budget!
