Hi all,
I don't get to play very much, but the release of Gravediggers has me excited to try out some new stuff, as trenchers were one of the big reasons I picked Cygnar as my first faction back in mk II. Fast forward to mk III and I can finally play the all trencher army I've always dreamed of!
I've also been eyeing Caine3 for a while, and came to the conclusion that it might be fun to run him in Gravediggers with a bunch of Grenadiers, since (if properly set up) you could easily have 3-4 of them shooting 3 times each at RAT9/POW16 during feat turn. Not bad for a 9 pt jack! Im thinking a list along these lines: (very much a first draft, change away!)

Caine does like regular trenchers to have a cloud wall to hide behind but it might be worth swapping one unit out for commandos. Their minifeat works great with calamity and they can still reload your grenadiers.

I like the concept, but the Grenadiers might want an accuracy fix other than calamity. Maybe consider a unit of rangers?

I had thought about swapping out a trencher unit for rangers, what do you guys think of these changes:
- swap a trencher unit for commandos with UA - use the two points freed up by commandos for a patrol dog - swap Hitch for master Gunner (helps the RAT for one grenadier a turn at least)
I might also try the above changes plus swapping a grenadier for a ranger unit. I haven't played caine3 yet but I can definitely forsee having focus issues with 5 jacks on him. The extra accuracy is probably worth the damage drop.

In the handful of games I've played with cane3 I've found that trying to calamity on his feat turn is a bit of a no go. His unit usually has to come up aggressively when he feats and I'd rather have focus to camp and maybe allocate a few or flicker. Keep calamity for non feat turns or assassination runs.
There's a decent amount of mat/rat fixing in the list anyways. Calamity helps, trenchers can CRA and commandos have pretty. Caine's feat helps the Battle group fit and you could work in fin for veteran leader as well.
