You shouldn't compare her to her Mk2 version because that model no longer exists in the game. You have to look at the model as she exists now. She plays a very hit and run style of game. I want to try her with models that already have movement shenanigans like sprint or reposition and then the feat lets them move even farther away. Since it also isn't dependent on the number of enemy models anymore you can take lots of infantry and they all get the feat move so some can jam and others can back up outside of threat ranges. Frost field on swordsmen is awesome. You see I don't get that reasoning at all. I've got plenty of experience playing Vayl 1, why should I ignore that experience because of a few changes? Mk II Vayl 1 is still a more accurate comparsion to Mk III Vayl 1 than any other caster. Why stop there? Why not compare her to mk1 Vayl then? Mk2 Vayl doesn't exist anymore. Saying she was better in mk2 doesn't really do anything to help people figure out how to use her mk3 version.

Maybe I would if I had played in Mk I and playing Vayl 1 was more like playing her in Mk III than playing her in Mk II was.
The point is I've played her in Mk III and being unable to move her with the feat makes it really hard to do have a big swingy hit and run Incite buffed feat turn like she clearly wants to without Vayl dying immediately after because she is super squish. Leash is difficult to position properly for and , and ultiamtely she doesn't seem anywhere near as powerful or fun as when I put Absylonia 2 or Vayl 2 on the table.

I've had luck with her in a control heavy game: 2 hellmouth Proteus Neraph BFS (Samples) Instead of moving in to incite I drag the enemy to it. This is how I like my Vayl1. I like to set up Hellmouth + Proteus to (hopefully) drag key figures into Incite range. I also like to run a pair of Raeks with her for crazy leash shenanigans. Even the threat of the Raeks coming in from behind after running them 2 turns up either side of the board (thanks to long leash) makes for interesting catch22 scenarios.
