I'm just coming back to WMH after leaving for awhile. I sold all my stuff and decided to give Cygnar a shot.
With the changes to rules, points, etc., how feasible is it to run Jr and Jakes in the same list? Is that overkill? I'm primarily looking to play pStryker, Haley3 (never played a Haley before), and Maddox.
I imagine JR would basically just be an arcane shield bot while Jakes would probably act like a dynamic duo with (insert jack).
Hmm, consequently, how would Jakes and T-Head hold up as a team?

I have only played against Jakes 1 and Thunderhead, but they work pretty well together, T-Head desperately wants a threat extension which is what Jakes provides, alternatively she can energiser him back out of threat range after he has shot. plus def 14, arm 19, 32 boxes, immune to KD, slams etc, is pretty respectable for a heavy

That's true, but the opportunity cost is really high. I can't check Warroom atm but I imagine the bundle probably comes in at close to 30 pts? I forget how much THead is. When you played against the combo, how much damage did they do?

So T-Head is 20 points and Jakes is 4, so it is not a cheap package, I would say T-Heads damage output is slightly lower than you would ideally want for the price tag, the real value of the package comes in the great defensive stats, If you were to play them with Haley 3 like you suggested, he gets to def 16 with no knockdown, that is insane for a heavy

Interesting. His fists still seem a little pillow-y, but did the change to Pulse seem to make any difference when you faced it?

I played with both Jakes1 and JR many times without problem, since Jakes1+Thunderhead is a staple in a lot of my lists.
If the change is THEAD not pulsing on his back arc sure, it's handy to not fry your own things or Jakes, but it was a thing you could get around even in MK2.
THead and Jakes work better now than MK2 both because they cost way less (24 points vs the 30 they would have costed if they just doubled the old MK2 price), and because between Power Up and the change to Power Fields, Jakes is way more survivable now.
Thead also got a little upgrade in his fist (now a little less pillow fisted), so there are a lot of improvements.

If you want to run jack heavy and useing a caster with few or no battle group spells/feat then yes. And you can get both free in all of our theme lists. Aside from T'head Jakes1 can run a pair of chargers or hunters. Jr's good for either a long range jack or a throw away firefly.

They sure work good in a heavy metal list.
