I just wanted to get a small tally running of what heavies us pointy ears are using the most. If you could separate character from non character it would be great!
I use the following mostly; Character: Discordia Imperatus
Non Character Banshee Hyperion Manticore

Helios is awesome. Not for all lists, but generally awesome. Hyperion is issyria's secret character jack. And only hers. Banshee is a great jack, that i mostly find use for with kaelyssa, Helynna and Vyros (and Ossyan, rarely). Manticora is a really flexible and relatively cheap jack, useful more or less with every caster.

Character: Imperatus Discordia
Non Character: Banshee Helios Manticore
I have been playing a lot of vyros 2 and elara 2 if that helps explain why these are the heavies I've been gravitating towards haha. I think my favorites are definitely the banshee and helios. Just overall love those 2 for the versatility they can bring to the table!

Character: Discordia
Non-Character: Phoenix Manticore
So my list is probably a little different than a lot of people's so I am going to provide a little context. I don't own any of the character heavies besides Disco so that heavy skews that area and I don't own a colossal kit so no Helios/Hyperion.
The Phoenix is actually a model I use a lot but feel is under appreciated by most. Two of my favorite casters are Garryth and Elara2 both of which love having a front line arcnode especially elara2 for cycling her buffs and debuffs but neither of which really want to have to pay for it making the phoenix a great choice. Its a compotent beater in melee with the ability to both clear infantry and scrap jacks. Elara2 loves the reach especially for a healthy application of scything touch and the extra SPD it has over the Banshee for the long range missile on feat turn.

Character: Imperatus/Discordia/Hypnos/Hemera
Non-Character: Banshee
I find our character jacks are the only thing keeping my non theme lists relevant. Disco's spray and Imperatus in melee love Hand of Destruction on Helynna. The combo if Sylys+HoD+pull gun normally can make sure Imperatus can charge in kill a heavy then back up with Rhythm. You can use side steps to line up a nice spot to retreat with your 3".

Thanks for the replies. I think it helps most of us to read what others are doing with their battlegroups. Helping each other think outside the box will help in the overall. Please keep on discussing, and if your new, don't be afraid to comment!

Character: Hemera Imperatus
Non-character: Manticore Griffon Hydra Banshee Sphinx
While I like our Colossals, I only take them in very specific lists. I will start using the Phoenix more, though. It was my most played myrmidon in mk2 so I have been experimenting with new approaches.

Banshee. Phoenix Manticore
I don't own the characters or the colossals yet. (My budget got a lot tighter shortly after I started focusing on Ret near the end of mk2) and my lists vary, but the Banshee makes probably 95% of my lists, and is usually one of the Star models most games. I mostly play Issyria and Kaelysa right now. With Issyria the second jack I reach for is usually the Phoenix because he can arc node or beat face whichever I need more. For Kaelysa the second heavy is more often the Manticore. I find it's tactical flexibility suits her.

character: -the only one I own is Hypnos so it's not really a fair discussion
non-char: -banshee -hydra -manticore -phoenix
I don't own the colossals either, so no real competition there. and with what casters I normally play (Ossyan, Elara2, Helynna, starting to play Kaelyssa some), a hydra almost always makes it into my list somewhere simply because of it's focus efficiency and helpful threat range. banshees and manticores I tend to play around with replacing each other, although after getting some games in I tend to prefer the banshee when I'm not playing in forges. and I like the phoenix quite a bit because it really can get a lot of work done between self-regen on shields from phoenix field, a reasonable gun, a good sword, combustion, and an arc node.

Character: Moros Non Character: Banshee Sphinx Helios Normal Caster Rotation: Garryth Elara 2 Thyron Being you have Garryth and Moros listed top, how has you experience been with Moros? What factions/casters has been your easiest or more difficult?

I generally do not play Moros without Garryth. I have this annoying issue that won't let me play a character jack with a warcaster that they don't have a bond with. That said, I have a list for Garryth with every theme and my hardships go as follows:
Garryth in Shadows of Retribution Best match ups: Jack heavy lists - my Shadows let me perform caster kills with little to no problems for the most part. Even with shield guarded jacks nearby. Mage Hunter Strike Force and Spears offer precision removal options while Infiltrators jam up nicely. Banshee and Moros help me knockdown/para for Mage Hunter Assassins, Narn, and Garryth to do their job. I also use Soulless Voidtracers to harass casters and spellcasters.
Hardest match ups: Heavy infantry lists with/or infantry with high armor. Man-o-war Khador lists, Ghost Fleet, and lists that nullify stealth or have truesight.
Garryth in Defenders of Ios Best Match ups: Heavy infantry lists w/ weapon master or heavy armor. I'm able to use swordsmen and halberdiers to set up a great wall of defense while Helios pulls things in close for the Heavy Rifle Teams and Fane Knight Skeryth to obliterate all the while keeping Garryth safe behind the 120 base. Not to mention the AFG does wonders for drawing fire and removing key targets.
Hardest Match ups: Gun lines tend to shred this army for some reason, I also have issues against Circle and Legion when they have their battle engines on the table. I anticipate Northkin being a problem for this list as well.
Garryth in Forges of War: Best Match ups: Gun lines suffer against this list due to the ranged defensive capabilities. Shield guard is also amazing for keeping Garryth safe when you have 2 colossals on the table. This list can also obliterate most infantry spam lists due to the big guns of Hyperion and Helios/Magister/Mages opening up charge lanes to control the battle field.
Hardest Match ups: Any list that I know has abilities that prevent move effects also assassinate lists like Legion/Cygnar are tough as I have to hide Garryth very well to prevent him being sniped out even with Stealth.
Garryth in non-themed list: Best Match ups: Heavy infantry/high armor lists. Heavy jack lists. I can send in Helios with a sentry'd AFG to clear what I need then unload with sentinels or drop boosted sprays with Dhalia and Skarath. I will also drop this list in against heavy warbeasts Hordes lists except for Skorne, for that I will use Forges or even Shadows for a quick assassination.
Hardest Match ups: Attrition game, this list has a low model count much like Forges of War and it's very easy to have my opponent focus fire on a specific model and punch holes in my offense. Legion usually does this very well as does Cygnar and Grim1.
For every "hard" issue I have, Thyron or Elara 2 seem to counterbalance my struggles where Garryth might have a problem. I will generally bring Elara 2 in Defenders of Ios and Thyron as well. They do very well as either clearing a massive swath in one turn or just ignoring gunlines and rushing in and killing the casters.
I hope that was helpful.
