It's Sunday afternoon and I've just spent a few hours assembling some Knights Exemplar a friend had sold me to discover that the KE I was having trouble with was actually a disguised Knights Exemplar Senny. I'm planning on taking Vindictus with some Knights Exemplar to the masters tournament this weekend. Every game I've played with him I've enjoyed, which is a big surprise, usually there's one or two duff games in a row with casters, but I haven't experienced that with him.
It seems a bit down in here of late, what with the... oddness of the Champion's development in CID, so I thought it might be good to dedicate a bit of time to a nonsense positivity thread.
What are you looking forward to playing/painting?
I still an eFeora list with many many repenters to put on the table in Creator's Wrath. I'm up to six, what with all the repenters that seem to find their way into eBay lots I end up with.

I'm just starting in the hobby, and building up towards 75 points. I've got a 25 point Creator's Might Durant 2 army, which is eventually going to morph into a 75 point Faithful Masses army. I've settled on a list, and am slowly assembling/painting the models - I fully expect to lose a lot, but so far I'm still having a bunch of fun just fumbling along. From an aesthetic point of view, the Vigilant is probably my favorite model in the line (and the jacks in general are a big reason why I'm playing Menoth), there's something hilarious and awesome about an ARM 21 light warjack. I need to find an excuse later down the line to bring more than one, maybe a wrestling themed list with Anson "Dwayne Johnson" Durst.
Company of Iron looks super interesting to me too.

I'm in the process of heavily converting many of my models. I'm looking forward to getting them painted and putting the pics on here. It's gonna be great.

Playing 2 new lists in the coming weeks:
1. F3ora faithful masses. I really hope the theme can make her viable. Flame trail punch monks for the lols. Oh and Fire Step, I too plan on spamming repenters.
2. Diving into Testament exemplar theme. The internet tells me that if I play it, my days of dodging Cryx may be over.

I feel like her build just screams flame bringers and fast light warjacks. Also, what is with this magic bullet testament list I keep hearing whispers of. One minute he's one of the worst casters we have, the next everyone is playing Chinese whispers about the "Testament that was promised"

I would have agreed a while ago, but themes have shaken it up, namely exemplar and ghost fleet/dark host.
The two high level players I've heard say that testament would be a great cryx drop are the Aaron Wale and Josh Bates (the Canadian one). Theory is it's a solid ghost fleet answer that will likely also be favored into the cryx player's other list.
The elements that work against ghost fleet are the RFP (preferably with arc node/s), soul collection denial to hamper things like the hellslinger, and insane recursion. The only concern is keeping testament alive.
Dark host, with its lack of ranged attacks (AKA probably won't wipe units), will be unable to secure an attention victory, and must look to scenario or assassination.
It sounds good on paper, and the other competent protectorate player in my local meta is having positive initial results on the table. Like me, his previous plan was to dodge cryx.

Re F3ora, I was just thinking about banishing ward... What if it was allowed to target enemy models/units but required a magic attack roll? Would open the spell up a bit.

Personally I'm looking forward to playing K2 and lot of exemplars. Honestly I'm looking forward to playing in general as I don't get the chance to play too often for the time being. LOL. Also looking forward to teaching my gf when we pick up Grymkin for her birthday.

With everything happening with Paladins and faithful masses I think it's finally time to get Durst painted up and on the table.
Snagged some idrians for cheap as well with UA and really need to get them on the field. Really hoping they end up in creators might to provide a tarpit unit to provide some help on the way in.

I recently finished painting one of the coolest models Protectorate has after the Harbinger, Reznik 2
I've played him once in a Guardians of the Temple theme. Ambushing Daughters are the best part of that theme. Looking forward to trying him out with the Exemplar theme and just for kicks, a cavalry centric list with Vengers/Flamebrigners, Gravus and some paladins on horses
I've also been breaking out Kreoss 3 all cav list a lot more. I'm really tempted to get a second unit of Vengers.

as far as painting goes, as soon as I get back in the groove of things (my place is about to get hit by Irma x.x ) I plan on using acrylic to make flame wings on the back of feora2's back instead of the regular engine things. I plan on styling it similar to Sekeiri's no.6's wings I think it'll make a really cool look to someone who is suppose to be constantly fanning the flames of purification ^-^

I can attest to Testament having greater chops than his reputation would suggest. The great weakness is mass RFP: he's nigh unplayable into trolls(RFP on every model is super powerful into current metas, so expect to see it) or shatterstorm(again, high value and seen with mage hunters or rifle corps), and ironically fails pretty hard into....wait for it.....the reclaimant orders. Yep. Sanctifiers existing literally turn most of his feat off.
Do note that soul ward does not, as is sometimes mistakenly claimed, only for friendly models. ANY model in command range will not give up a soul token to your opponent.

It's like those candy cut outs at festivals. The idea is awesome but dear god is it going to be a wench! As for Irma, I'm currently in my summer place in Pennsylvania, far away from the devastation. My only worry is that my florida home is in south west tampa, just south of clearwater -.- If it goes back down to a cat 3 by the time it hits tampa we should be fine but you're really walking the line with that one. My place is outside the flood zones, but I don't have anyone down there who can board up the windows. And after this... there is another hurricane coming in behind Irma... I'm hoping IT doesn't thread the needle as well (tampa can only be hit by a strong hurricane if it goes inbetween the keys and cuba until it gets to the west side of florida and then follows the florida coast up to it... like what Irma is doing right now)
