Glimmer Imp
TrapperKin
Longfellow
His List
Helga
2 road hogs
2 razor boar
battleboar
2 effarit scouts
commandos
brigands
3 units of valkyries
I Pick the arcana labyrinth and pandemonium
He preys my full dreadrots with his brigands, I prey his roadhog on the right with my murdercrows I forget to deploy the trapperkin in both of my games
He runs forward, I move up more cautiously, casting 4 clouds and making sure a lot of his army is covered by KoN's control area.
He moves his effariit into my control area, I trigger Labyrinth, he misses my gorehound. The commandos and a roadhog that moves up and sprays a commando in the back kill about 4 hollowmen and 4 dreadrots, toughing another. I don't pay much for his alphastrike due to the -2 speed.
The murdercrows ambush on the right, taking out the effariit and a couple of valkyries. The hollowmen take back their lost members by aiming and having a glimmer imp help a little. A dreadrot gets a charge on a brigand and kills it as well. On the left I kill a couple of commandos with dreadrots, bring 2 dreadrots back with the sisters and activate the king. I cast scything touch and wraithbane on the rattler (should have had the rager cast it in retrospect) I put down a cloud on his right. I didnt need to move him up this far, and I should have just put longfellow on the flag instead. The rattler goes in, hits the defensive warded commando because of wraithbane, overtakes, kills a razorboar, overtakes into the roadhog and does some damage to him (applying scything touch), the gorehound charges in making sure to get himself lodged onto the building as well so he cant be slammed out of the way. I move up the neighslayers, shoot the roadhog with longfellow and don't move him to the place in this picture, it's where he should have been put, but he instead stays on his hill.
He feats, I forgot about windrush having never fought helga before. She gets up, knocks down the king and shoots him with her gun. he transfers both damage rolls leaving him out of fury. two valkyries walk into the cloud and shoot the king leaving him on 4. He should win right now, but he makes a mistake trying to free up the razorboar from my rattler. he wants to free up the boar so it can clear a spot for the effarriit, but he should have just shot it with brigands. Instead he slams my lights from both sides to knock them both into each other, killing the gorehound. I get 3 fury from it dying, leaving me effectively invincible. He concedes at this point since his warlock is sitting right next to mine with no fury.
I messed up here because getting knocked down is really the best way to kill the king and I let it happen for no good reason. King is a balancing act of being up close and personal and not killable, but a slam feat should keep him afraid. But hey.. better lucky than good right?
