Ever since MK2 I have absolutely adored the model both from a rules standpoint and simply visually. Sadly I've never been able to put one on the table. How do they hold up? I feel they are well worth the points the bigger question for me is would it be worth the money. For those of you who own it how often do you get it to the table top and do you think they have any space in a competitive meta?

I do like it. It's good at what its supposed to do. It has a somewhat static threat. With it's speed going back down to 4 I find you typically will have to move it on a turn you want to aim to make it relavant in scenario. I even had to charge with it one time to get into a zone and kill the wnwmy heavy sitting in thw zone on around 4 boxes. Mine wont be leaving my ossyan list any time soon.

I love the AFG. With the CID changes to it, I really think it is a super good piece. It also contributes to free models in Defenders!

That's most of what I've been seeing, Ossyan in Defenders for a quality theme and fortune it looks really solid anyone else that it can be used with? I'm thinking Garryth for the sentry shot and a huge base for him to play up and hide behind.

I've heard people talk about Garryth in defenders with a ton of dudes. Just throw bodies at them all game until a turn when all they have left is jacks and caster then you move up and feat and all they can do is run and hide from the assassination and you win on scenario.

Nope. I don't own halbs. I play archers with swordsmen because parry they can disengage and leave targets withing aiming distance of the archers. But in this list you probably will try to end the game using gallows to drag a caster in then AFG slams caster down and you shoot it to death with brutal damage archer shots... the halbs are just a tool to jam for a turn or 2 to set that up.

I just brought it to a tournament with Thyron in Defenders and felt that it is good against the right lists but far from broken. Anyone with Parasite can basically shoot it off the table in a single turn (it has happened to me twice despite Carapace) and you tend to aim often enough to make the AFG scenario irrelevant.
I still think Rahn, Kaelyssa and Garryth offer it the most but I will be running it in various other lists as well (I want a Vyre Theme for it).
I would recommend getting one. Two are too many and it will not go into every list. Still, it does 17 points worth of work in the right list and often terrifies opponents.

War Room Army
Retribution of Scyrah - Garryth - AFG
Theme: Defenders of Ios 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
My quick theorycrafting came up with this. It's probably not the most optimal but it's based on what I have (IE: Only one unit of Halbs) the goal it to project a lot of threat and create a Garryth delivery system. Plenty of shield guards to protect Garryth from what can shoot him and the Gaurdian to put him up to DEF unreachable in melee. My goal would be to drop the Griffon for a Thane + Lys but I actually don't own a Healer at the moment.
Garryth, The Blade of Retribution - WJ: +29 - Fane Knight Guardian - PC: 0 - Phoenix - PC: 18 - Phoenix - PC: 18 - Moros - PC: 11 - Griffon - PC: 8
Arcantrik Force Generator - PC: 17

Looks good. Use a phoenix to gallows their caster out into the open then run the Griffon between AFG and their caser and slam him over their caster. Heavy rifles should be able to finish the job.

Often times I find that I win on scenario when I build my Garryth lists like this one. It is designed to provide Garryth with the luxury of sitting in the middle of the field in complete safety and that keeps their caster and army way back.

I would try to find a way to get a 2nd unit of halbs and a thane or 2 in there.
Maybe drop 1 of the phoenixes

So this isn't a list, but it is a thought on the AFG.
The model screams conversion to me. Maybe a robotic cricket or set it on at-st legs from Star Wars. The cricket would probably fit the retribution theme better. Then I could shout at opponents to fear the angry cricket of doom!
