The Wicked Harvest has been out for a bit, so let's talk about it.
What has your experience been so far assembling and painting models, as well as playing the game with/against them?
How would you rate the strength of the faction?

Well...so far all I've gotten is the Child. But she was SUPER easy to assemble, and quite enjoyable to paint. Hopefully the rest of my order (army box, crabbits, Death Knell) comes in today, which would let me report more by Sunday.

About to begin painting the child here in a bit...Heretic was a fun paint considering I had zero clue about a color scheme. Came out good for my first model, so ive been told! As for the Grymkin Paints, im in love with their Deathless Metal!
As for play, Skin & Moans are pretty scary under the child. Had two face tank and survive on 4 & 7 boxes each just to be healed the next turn to functioning standards and one round some troll heavies that couldnt finish them off. Death Knell is really nice to have, nearby!

As far as the models go, they're a bit of a rollercoaster - The Skin and Moans, Cage rager and all infantry except the Dread Rots were clean, with minimal flash and cleanup required. There was some, but by every measure minimal. The Cage Rager yolk required a bit of hairdryer action to fit really well, but again, I've encountered far worse from both PP and other companies. The worst were the dread rots. The flash really wasn't terrible, and the detail on the individual models was actually quite nice... BUT the plastic on one of the two units I picked up with the all in one boxes was super bendy - think Reaper/Bones bendy. This wouldn't be that terrible, until you realize that the plastic consistency makes cleaning flash incredibly finicky, where the flash kind of "ripped" off instead of being cut off - even with a fresh exacto blade. That said, once cleaned and primed, the detail is better than I was expecting, and they still hold paint really well, despite the bending.
My bigger issue is the old witch - the primary support leg is slowly bending, to the point where the lantern is nearly on the table. There are some fixes for this, but apparently the primary cause is the weight of all the resin on the one leg, and the joint on it isn't strong enough to support it. I'm trying a hairdryer/icebath shock, and if this doesn't work, I'll be reaching out to PP customer support.
As far as gameplay goes - these guys are going to be incredibly strong. I've played overly cagey the first few games, until it was realized they really need to die for the mechanics to work. It's going to take a few games with them to start winning on a regular basis, but good god... they're going to be game-changing I think, and there are a couple of S-Tier casters in the mix (Heretic and the Dreamer are the ones that stick out to me, but I'm a scrub, so take that with a grain of salt). The rest are all solid A/B, with nothing really lower than a B-.

Yep, the Dread Rots.. I thought to myself, I just paid 50$ for 10 small reaper bones figures.
That said, I found moldline removal the easiest on them. Gentle shaving worked very well on a bendy vinyl.
I'm totally guessing here, but I assume dread rots are bendy because softer plastic could hold more detail with such casting process. As they're pretty textured, this would make sense.
What doesn't make sense is, once again, the price. PP=Bones quality for GW prices.

This was 100% their official response to me...after "internal testing," they were satisfied best with the softer plastic to retain more detail.

Yeah, I got a few bends, on the Dread Rots' pitchforks and the Lantern mans staff.... otherwise not too bad.
Does anyone know if the models are out for the Dreamer, Rattler and Frightmare?
Still waiting to get a game with the actual models....

Got my first two games in yesterday. My list was Army Box, Death Knell,2x Crabbits, 2x Cask Imp and proxied Twilight Sisters. First game was against Haley2 (glad about it since I had hyped this army quite a bit and it brought me back to earth ) which went horribly from choosing Arcanas (picked Ruin and Shroud, had Shroud been Shadow it would have been a very different game) to just general gameplay. Nothing too notable, got pretty destroyed on feat turn and conceded so we could have another game since there was not much I could have done (even though my opponent was nice enough to give me Telekinesis, it wasn't enough.) Next game up against Denny2, non gf. Went much better, though the dice were on my side on a few occations. Picked Ruin and Shadow, meaning to drop Shadow to ruin charge lanes or trading a heavy. Didn't even plan on it, but my opponent moved Denny so I could proc Shadow SM into melee with her (my placement was stupid, didn't put him into range of my Knell even though I could have. Next time.). It would have probably been game over, but she managed to use her two remaining activations to remove it(it died to cont fire, rip). Game ended when I was about to charge full SM into Denny, but noticed that Heretic was in range as well. 5 automatic hits later (she was camping 3, I didn't cast Fury because I can't math) she was dead and my W:L ratio is 50/50. Thoughts: Heretic autohit is bonkers. With Reckoning and Fury he can do 6 autohits at PS18, which is pretty nice. Heretic being immune to Knockdown and Spells allows him to play pretty forward against Denny and the like. I like every model in the list and want to use all the others too, so it's gonna take a while to find the one list where I can safely settle. Having used Arcanas on the battlefield (and failing hard at start) made me read them much more carefully and come up few devious ways to use them. P.s. on both games a Cask Imp blew up on 1A by themselves, just because.

I like to set up my cask imps Ii'm just playing 2 as well for now) within 8" of the death knell, so when they do blow up on first turn they at least provide a corpse token.

How can we generate corpse tokens ourselves.... I know that there's a few units that only get them from killing enemy models, and few that get them from any attack.... how have people found ways to work this?
Currently I'm thinking the Cage Rager or whatever kills a Hollowman or two (they get recursion anyway)....

You have to get your opponent to do it for you. Cage Rager has to kill enemy models for bone picker to work.

How about Heretic's fire wall and then walk some of them through it?
