@under Where's the -6def swing coming from? I count 2 from Saeryn and 2 from BB. Seraph's Flare.

Banishing Ward and Occultation are both good upkeeps to put on Thrones, Marked for Death makes them more reliably hit and kill infantry, and Rhyas brings a lot of personal damage output to make up for all those points spent on things that cap out at POW 16. Seems like a good Cryx drop that still has the tools to handle other match ups.

Can anyone compare the twins double thrones to Vayl2 single throne like JVM played at nova? They seem to both be used into cryx but I was wondering if people with more experience had any pros vs cons for each. For example does one cover more match ups and the other one is a better cryx drop or is it just a different way to get the job done.

Vayl2 is a safe warlock who can threat project spells a far way. Because of this it keeps the opposing warlock or warcaster playing safer than they want. Vayl also has boundless charge which lets her throne go further than the twins thrones. Icy grip has the same effect as marked for death in the sense you're trying to lower a units defense(yes, marked for death is different and less restrictive).

Thanks! I only have one throne at the moment and was curious about the differences. The only thing I thought of was that Vayl2 might not like menoth and that could give them an advantage in list chicken. However, I don't have much experience in actually playing the twins so I figured I should ask my betters. Thank you for the insight neutralyze.

The Twins don't like facing Protectorate all that much either in my experience, and I suspect adding Thrones to the list makes them even less fond of the match-up.

Can't say the throne(s) appeal much with the twins. I suppose you're taking them for the magical sprays, but then again marked for death removes incorporeal anyway.
It's points you can ill-afford, and should probably go to either solidifying Rhyas' ability to kill heavies or to bringing something that can help deal with armour. Between the twins themselves and the (imo obligatory) Raptors, you should have infantry handled without reaching for the throne.

Unded I'm no expert but the thrones are cheap for how hard they are to deal with for the new SR and they help a lot for volume of attacks into ghostfleet. It also adds to free points in theme. If you look at the WTC lists they are quite common, I think they are an answer for some of the drops in the meta atm. Just trying to help you see the other side but to each their own. Someone else can chime in and give you a better answer but I figured I would try so you could have both sides of the coin.

Fair enough loft.
Tanking in Legion just feels weird to me. It's not something we're really good at, so leaning into it that hard feels like desperately trying to plug weaknesses rather than playing to our strengths. Take with a grain of salt, I don't own any thrones, let alone 2 of them, so I don't have any play experience with them (this idea isn't compelling enough right now to change that status either).

maybe you shouldn't jump into 2 thrones with the twins, but you should seriously give that piece a chance. it will really surprise you. it feels weird because your not used to having it. but once you put it on the table, you will see it's value. proxy a few games with it. you won't be disappointed.

I commonly run double throne with Thags1, and I can't think of another list in the game (maybe outside Khador Jack spam) that can tank as hard as that list can. There are a couple other casters I'd rather run 1/2 thrones with before the Twins (Thags1, Saeryn1, Vayl2, maybe Kryssa), but there is a lot of going on there that works well for Twins.

Honestly the only reason I'm not running a Throne with the Twins is that I don't want to have to buy and transport something that big, I think there's a pretty good amount of synergy between them.

Fellow Legion player plays the throne with pThags too now. But looking at the Twins it seems like this is a counter drop for infantry spams, esp. Ghost Fleet. What many seem to forget here is that unded's promoted list here is a dedicated ARM cracker - a COMPLETLY different task than all the non-BB/WE&SJ and thrones lists...

I wasn't trying to change his list, I just wanted to give him more info and it might be worth it to give it a try. Knowledge is power and all that...I understand the reservation, I am not too fond of the look of it but just picked up a second one as well because I want to have the option to play it if I need to.
