Ummm, no. Ambush is not an ongoing effect. It's a once per game ability for a unit to come on the board edge. It's not something that's active till the unit arrives.

I think you should go back and read all 3 descriptions. Table markers can only be one of the enumerated list. The ambush markers are not there. Nor do they fulfill the described use. They are an in game effect, placed in affected areas of the board. In place until used. By definition, a table marker MUST represent a "specific are of the board" that is not an "in game effect or current model location." Ambush markers are not marking a specific area of the board. Rather, they are marking the Ambush rule until it is used. Further, PP expressly limits table markers to ONLY 30/40/50/120 mm base, 3/4/5 AoEs, a player's finger, a small bead, or a coin no larger than a penny. The Ambush markers are none of these, so cannot be a table marker.
