They are talking about medium infantry again when nobody uses Bastions... or cinerators and none of them would last to get healed as they just die instantly. They are pretty much the worst infantry we have and neither the VoJ or the vindictus only exemplar theme make them any better. Probably balanced around some exemplar CID in a years time. the admonisher was balanced fine as you basically would eat the battle engines own life extremely quickly if you tried to boost everything (even with mechanics etc).

Nevermind, I forgot, he no longer had Admonsiher on the gun and instead got Ashes to Ashes with a free cast. So the nerf is only to his melee weapon which I don't think anyone ever uses anyway

Also, it now only takes 1 point of damage to boost attack and damage rolls. The VoJ has always worked like this for boosts. Even in MKII.

I think unboostable bounces are mandatory trade-off for reload. It was OK when you get only one shot and helps vessel to do his points back, but with reload two double-boosted pow15 is enough for me. And yes, it would chew its own life, but more boxes gives more time and it's only on point per boost.

Don't forget Upkeep removal and repair aura! All in all I think it is a very good decision. I played in a CiD tournament and some other games with on VoJ and its damage was just obscene, not only annihilating direct targets but also heavily damaging/destroying light beasts/warjacks/cavalry/solos in Admonisher range (for example I killed or crippled several Stealth Circle Griffons from ~14" like that). It was too much in my opinion. I don't even want to think what would have happened if I had taken two. It still threatens regular one-boxers fine and puts some damage on other targets, possibly killing solos or light cavalry with a good roll. All in all an interesting and very strong but (possibly) not an overpowered piece, I'd say it's a win for CiD here Also I wish Sevvy 2 took a heavier nerf so I could play him without feeling like I'm going easy on myself

I'm not that happy with the change to Admonisher but I think it's still in a good place... Upkeep removal, healing, RoF2, more boxes, admonisher damages rolls are still not counted as attacks.... There also have been several small changes to make it easier to use... Cleansing Aura doesn't remove friendly continuous fire anymore, troopers can attack with "Doors of Judgment" out of formation. At some point I will buy it, but not right know because I still have so many other figures to paint

Overall I am happy. The new miracle was the main reason to play it for me, and it kept that unscathed. Two Pow 15's for only two points more than a Reckoner is a good points cost I think, especially when you consider it's ability to hold zones better and miracles.
Dead Cleanser spray abuse should be easier now too.

Yeah, that part just made me want to scream at them. NOBODY TAKES BASTIONS!!! The miracle could be changed to say "medium based warrior models in this models command range remove all damage" and it still wouldn't make anybody take bastions. They don't seem to get the problem with Bastions is that they just die before they have a chance to get healed, and Sanguine Bond doesn't help. And I agree that boosting the bounces was fine. You were really cutting yourself to death if you did it alot. And it's not like a boosted pow10 was a problem. I can live with this, but it feels like someone at PP said "We gotta get a side nerf in there, because it's Protectorate"

While he isn't really an assassination caster, Sevy2 can actually be quite dangerous late game thanks to Creator's Wrath. 3D6 to hit and effectively blessed weapon master P+S13 can kill stuff that's already banged up. Or kill an exposed caster who doesn't think that the old man is dangerous. His whacky stick can hurt.

Very disappointing. Boosts on the admonished were a great ability and the change is a very large nerf. IMO if removed there should have been a corresponding point adjustment. I play several factions and it always seems that I am happy with what happens to my other factions but disappointed with what happens to Menoth. The battle engines in my other factions look strong.

It seems that they consistently aim for abject mediocrity with Menoth in MK3, unless there actual aim was to make everyone spend a fortune on jacks to run Amon. >> factions need some outstanding units to make things fair/competitive....because the majority of other factions still have these units too. It seems that they consistently overbalance so that there is no possible chance that any of our units might stand out or have priority pick. >> they justify this by saying it makes lots of units viable (this is a good idea)... but who cares if they are all equally viable within the faction, if they are all outclassed by the overpowered units in other factions... which we know exist in large numbers. It really feels like they don't give a crap about this faction... first the terrible Interdiction theme and now VoJ tamed because of what? a fear of Menoth becoming overpowered... Anyway I better go buy 3 sets of bastions and 2 vessels so I can run an incredible healz interdiction force...
