Having just finished Fire & Faith: Godless, I am interested in making a jack heavy Tristan list to compliment my Exemplar infantry list. Trying to balance enough shooting with just enough melee to still be effective when they reach me. Currently I am looking at:
Sovereign Tristan Durant Reckoner Redeemer Devout Vanquisher x2 Crusader x2
Units/solo's: Min Choir x2 Vassal Mechanic Vassal of Menoth Wrack
I'm not set on this list and wanted to get some input from more experienced players. I am also debating on which theme to run in. Exemplar Interdiction gives blessed weapons, Might of the Creator gives free solo's and re-position. What do you guys/gals think will work best?

My two cents:
1. No need for mechanics, you have a healing pulse. Take another wrack instead. 2. A Templar or Indictor can be fantastic for going up the field at ARM 23. It often won't get 1 rounded, so you can heal it up and keep going. 3. I'd go for Creator's Might as the theme. Blessed is nice, but you can get away with Chasten. 4. Consider an arc node. Tristan can deal out a lot on feat turn, and you can even assassinate with it.

With the list you have now, there's no reason not to use the Creator's Might theme. You'll get free solos, if nothing else. Eg, Covenant. Though Blessed guns are fun too. Why not play a few games each way?

I'd certainly suggest going Creator's Might, and use the now-available points to upgrade something (maybe 1 or both crusaders, if you can) to one of the shield-jacks (Templar, Indictor, or Eye of Truth). These things are amazing with Tristan, because (as stated by d3z) with Inviolable Resolve, they get to ARM 23, and so won't die. Then you heal it up back to functional, pop Manifest Destiny, and kill whatever tried to kill it.
Plus, with Creator's Wrath, you can take the special 3-man wrack, and so still take mechanics, which while not essential, are helpful 1-pt filler that can help a jack recover further after absorbing the alpha (or be used instead of Hand of the Creator, if only 1 or 2 jacks need healing).

Based on the above suggestions I've arrived at:
Sovereign Tristan Durant (Creator's Might) Indictor Reckoner Redeemer Devout Vanquisher x2 Crusader
Units/solo's: Min Choir x2 Vassal of Menoth x2 (both free) Wrackx3 (free)
This puts us at 75 points exactly. I like the idea of having an arch-node but I'm not a fan of what I have to give up for it.

What is your thinking behind the double Vanquishers? It strikes me as unusual.

Personally, I'd make sure I had a hierophant, but that's me.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the Redeemer in the list. It's not an awful choice by any means, just not what I would do.
As for Vanquishers, I'm very much a fan. A major issue I have with Tristan2 is being jammed, which I use Castigators to try and solve. Vanquishers are another, albeit expensive, solution that I should try.

My goal when I set out was to build a Jack shooting list. (With enough late power to still do something once engaged.) I'm also building with what I have access to. I own two vanquishers and they have a decent gun, so I am running the two I have. I don't have indictor yet but I like the suggestion so I'll proxy. I'll agree the redeemer isn't doing much except hitting whatever the reckoner flares... Any better suggestions for those 11 points?

If you can find 4 more points somehow a guardiam would be nice. He is a solid mellee beatstick but I'm having trouble seeing where you'd get the points.

My version of the Tristan2 jack list:
War Room Army
Protectorate of Menoth - Sovereign Tristan
Theme: The Creator's Might 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Sovereign Tristan Durant - WJ: +28 - Hierophant - PC: 3 - Castigator - PC: 12 (Battlegroup Points Used: 12) - Crusader - PC: 10 (Battlegroup Points Used: 10) - Crusader - PC: 10 (Battlegroup Points Used: 6) - Revenger - PC: 10 - Vigilant - PC: 9 - Reckoner - PC: 16 - Reckoner - PC: 16 - Repenter - PC: 8
The Covenant of Menoth - PC: 0 Vassal of Menoth - PC: 0 Vassal of Menoth - PC: 0 Wrack (The Creator's Might) - 3 Wracks: 3
Choir of Menoth - Leader & 5 Grunts: 6
THEME: The Creator's Might ---
GENERATED : 06/20/2017 13:00:11 BUILD ID : 2042.17-05-22
There's plenty of melee in there to take advantage of manifest destiny, and a revenger for the occasional arc. I'm not convinced on the castigator but I need to give it a fair shot before discarding it.
Having read the book, do you reckon we'll get a character vanquisher for Tristan? Aegis of faith has definitely developed into his own in the book, especially with the device added to him. To me it reads to be a force barrier-like ability.

To me it reads to be a force barrier-like ability. Wild Speculation: I Really Hope we get Aegis of Faith as a Tristan Bonded Character 'jack. I'd like a decent melee, above average gun, and an ability that helps protect our casters against shooting somehow (lore based). It would be cool if he auto healed a bit from a bond with Tristan.

If you are playing Tristan, Creators Might all the way. Free support staff is good, and Tristan doesn't do much of anything for infantry.
