Having sold off (most of) my Legion (for not being sufficiently disturbing) I am planing to invest in some Grymkin.
Until the models come out, I'm wondering what sort of things folk are likely to use for proxies or quick conversions?
Currently I'm planning on using blighted Ogrun for pumkinheads (maybe with a ball of orange playdoh over their heads), and Long Gunners for the Hollow men.
Any thoughts?

Blighted ogrun are a bit too large unless you are fitting them on small bases. I'm personally using whatever I have available, though I do plan on making some tarot cards I have into arcana cards.

I used my Circle models for units, the Khador Gun Carriage as a Death Knell and a few Malifaux nodels for solos.

I'm planning on printing out the concept art for all the models and standing them up on bases. I've got more than enough spare bases. I like to keep plenty handy for basing projects so I can play models while still working on their bases.

I'm not 100% sold yet on the faction, but if I end up buying in, I'm going to end up slightly altering just about everything, so I'm starting to look into options. I want to put masks on my Hollow Men but I'm still a bit unclear on how I want to change the Gorehounds and Piggybacks.

I totally want little top hats for the piggybacks.

For intial tests: Future Haley3 as Dreamer Long Gunners as Hollow Men Sword Knights wearing a blob of orange play-doh over their heads as Dread Rots. Gun Mage Officer as Lord Longfellow, possibly with a black mask of more play-doh Carnivean as Skin and Moans Crabbits, Rattlers, Gorehounds, Frightmare and Dread Knell... made out of Lego.

I totally want little top hats for the piggybacks. Haha, thats an idea! I'm not a fan of the fluff for them and they don't really fit with my view of the faction, so I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas. I looked at most of the dog/wolf/quadruped models for my Gorehounds. I think I might go with Raeks with Argus heads.

I'm hardly a painter, but I really want to paint some Grymkin. My piggybacks will each have a different base color (probably orange, red, purple, green, grey) with dotted lines sectioning off parts of them like butcher's diagrams. Then, I want to give them top hats, monocles, feathered plumes and such. The 'tortured souls' they ride will probably end up being totally black. They look too cartoonish to be actual people, so I want them to be representations of a crushed soul weighted down by its sins.
If I get OW2, I'll totally paint her Khador red, then do a blue ink wash. It'll look super spooky.

For painting/converting when they drop:
I'm wanting to base my piggybacks on different style houses: definitely one straw, one sticks, and one bricks. I like the idea of making their mounts pure color, though I might go for a more ghosty-soul type of look.
Pumpkin heads are likely getting based in a cornfield, OW2 is getting the traditional baba yaga treatment, I'll probably even make some non-robot chicken legs for scrappy. At least one witchwood is getting done up to look like the Angry Orchard logo. Longfellow is getting webs and any spare character heads I can find(I know I have at least a spare Eiryss and Aurora head). The base scheme for the rest is going to be a burned earth kinda vibe: charred wood, ash-sand bases, maybe some coals under a couple. If I can get my hands on a better 3d printer and some skill, I might try to do light-up pumpkin heads.
