There are tons of options for Vlad2, but some obvious things to take with him (not necessarily in the same list): Conquest, Uhlans, Shocktroopers, Eliminators.

Vlad 2 is like butter. He works with everything, is used to make just about everything and tastes great*

There are tons of options for Vlad2, but some obvious things to take with him (not necessarily in the same list): Conquest, Uhlans, Shocktroopers, Eliminators. This is pretty much my list. Conquest, MOWST+CA+Kovnik, 2x Eliminators, 2xDrakhun, filling out points with other solos or Min WGI+Rockets.

I'd say the only thing Vlad really likes is a conquest. He is still a one Jack caster.
Apart from that, everything is far game. Vlad polishes poop for a living, so bring anything and he'll make it better.

Am I understanding the Vlad2/Yuri interaction correctly in that during feat turn - Yuri is a speed 9 STR11 MAT11 P&S16 weaponmaster and rolling 6D6 dropping the lowest (with Hand of Fate and Arcane Might cast on him) and that effects his thresher attack? Sorry for the long run on sentence. I couldn't figure out how to shorten it.

Yuri is there (I think) explicitly to give treewalker to the Manhunters and Kossites and maybe do some solo hunting.

And because a hand of fated Yuri is funny I'd imagine.
But charging 12" Manhunters through forests with pow14 attacks is scary when it works.

I was actually going to post this exact thread. I've been playing for a little while (still fairly new) and happily winning with harkevich and b3. Tried vlad2 with conquest, MoW with officer and Kovnik, WGRC and rockets, 2 units of eliminators and Saxon orrick.
Went vs Krueger2 who windstormed my ranged attacks to buggery, and rebuked my MoWs. Conquest didn't do that much, but it wasn't the first time I've played a colossal. These may be obvious questions but I'd appreciate you guys' input.
1) was Krueger2 a particularly bad match up for this list? 2) at what point do I want to put the conquest into melee? (I ask cos I'm used to having melee jacks and behemoth as a gun platform; very separate roles) 3) the MoW package is a lot of points to get nullified by magic, worth fitting in Orin Midwinter to negate that? Well, Rebuke is almost certainly the most horrible spell in the game to have put on pretty much any unit. But it's not common. Even with Rebuke on them, you could feat and desperate pace for an 11" threat.
I'm more worried about the Conquest getting shut down by magic, so I feel very pressured into taking Orin when ever that many points are in one place.
There is no specific point to send Conquest into melee, but it should almost always run turn 1 in order to be far enough up that it can go in when needed.

Play kayazi-based jaws or legion. Never seen V2 in those, should be interesting. WGRC+mow/uhlans is done to death.
