True, you did not say that you have to run them in Cygnar, but you said that they were designed to be used in Cygnar, which sounds a bit similar to me.
Yes, they will die to blasts and small arms fire, but so will most infantry. But DEF 15 is enough that some things will have trouble hittig them. In my experience its a decent (but in no way perfect) defense and the amount of resources (aiming, focus, buff/debuff ets.) that my opponent will have to use to kill a DEF15 unit or model is fairly substantial.

...And now you can take devil dogs in trencher theme, and get free points for doing so.

if you put mass infantry on the battlefield that are not immune to blasts in the early game they will all die so fast your head will spin This, by the way, is pure nonsense.

I think it is true in incredibly specific circumstances, but I generally agree. My 22 points of halberdiers would like to discuss how many are supposed to still be on the board at the end of the game.

You are not taking them to tank anything. 22 points for 20 bodies isn't a huge investment. I play that module all the time, and they never fail to perform well, even if few to none survive.

Exactly, and what I was trying to say is that I've never lost the entirety of both units before. They are surprisingly resilient.
