So, you've decided to join the Swans, eh? Well, it's not an easy life. Cygnar is surrounded by enemies on all sides. In these times, we need all the new talent we can get. But wait, before you can sign on you need an army to lead. Let's pull up some options.
MKIII Battlebox
-Major Beth Maddox
-Ironclad Heavy Warjack
-Firefly Light Warjack
-Lancer Light Warjack
-Dice
-Tokens
-Pocket Rule Book
Description: Headed by Major Beth Maddox, Cygnaran War Hero and Warcaster, this battlebox comes with nearly everything you need to play Warmachine. In fact, if you have some card sleeves and a dry erase marker, then you're all set, soldier. The models inside make up an excellent 0 point army to immediately enter the world of Full Metal Combat. The rulebook included has all of the rules of Warmachine inside.
MKII/MKI Battlebox
-Commander Coleman Stryker
-Ironclad Heavy Warjack
-Charger Light Warjack
-Lancer Light Warjack
Description: Ah, a fan of the classics I see. Well, no fear brother (or sister). All of the models included in this battlebox are still usable in the third edition of this wargame. Commander Coleman Stryker is a tried-and-true hero of Cygnar, and has accompanied many new recruits to battle. Their survival stands as testament of his abilities. Though this box does not contain a rule book, all of the Warmachine Rules are available in pdf format online. You will need some dice (six sided), card sleeves, a dry erase marker, and a measuring tape. The models inside make up a 1 point army, so it isn't a standard point value army, but that shouldn't matter to most opponents.
MKIII All-In-One Army Box
-Captain Kara Sloan
-Defender Heavy Warjack
-Defender Heavy Warjack
-Charger Light Warjack
-Reinholdt, Gobber Speculator
-Trencher Infantry (10 man unit)
-3x Trencher Rifle Grenadiers
-Trencher Infantry Officer Sniper and Sniper
-Captain Maxwell Finn
Description: Hopping in with both feet? Well the All-In-One is a good place to start. Here you have a 50 point army ready to go. Captain Kara Sloan is an expert marksman, a pride to her nation. With the help of Reinholdt, a gobber mercenary serving as her spotter, Kara and her Warjacks rain down a barrage of artillery on her enemies. Accompanying Sloan is Captain Maxwell Finn and his band of Trencher Infantry. All together this army is a great jumping off point for new Cygnarans.
What Else?
After starting off with one of these options, it's mostly up to your preferences what you purchase next. However there are three models you should procure next because they will be included in the majority of Cygnar lists.
Squire
A great Warcaster Attachment that extends your Warcaster's control range, focus resources, and spell casting power.
Journeyman Warcaster
A young protégé to join your army's fight. The Journeyman has access to a powerful armor spell and can operate warjacks.
Captain Arlan Strangeways
One of the best mechanics in Cygnar, Strangeways combines his arcane prowess with mechanical knowledge. He can repair warjacks and increase their power.
Welcome to Cygnar, recruit. Feel free to talk to the Vets here if you have any more questions.
