Hello. I've been playing Khador as my only faction for quite some time now, and am looking for a change. The reason is that Khador just isn't challenging me to become a better player. Khador is so straight forward to play with so few 'tricks' that I just don't think I'm progressing as a player. I often lose games that I could have won because I miss things. So I wan't to try something different for a while and have picked Cygnar.
I'm really looking forward to playing some tricksy type casters, that will force me to look at the game in a different way in order to win, not just Axe to Face. I really think I want to play Haley 2, but who would you recommend for a second caster?
And if someone could help me build a list for each of the two caster I would really appreciate it. I'm not looking for the biggest baddest list that will make my opponents cry, but good solid lists that will help me learn the casters, the faction and hopefully help me to become a better player.
Thank you, and your help is very much appreciated.

Khador has forced everyone to play some level of axe to face, but Haley 2 can play outside of it.
If you want a competitive tricksy caster then I would recommend Maddox. She seems straight forward but snipe and storm lances bring enough bs to make even the most level headed of players rage.

Maddox is solid. Kraye offers lots of movement shenanigans that give you lots pf flexability.
And I'll also throw Stryker2 into the mix. He brings a good balance of personal power and army maneuvering.

Have you tried Strakhov 1 or Malakov 2?

Kraye, nemo 1 and 2 and Haley 2 and 3 all require a little more finesse to play then most khador casters. Stryker2 and Caine 2 both have tremendous personal power coupled with some unconventional movement abilities.

Ok, so I just picked up a big lot of Cygnar. I think I'm gonna start with Haley2 and Maddox. Can someone help me build good solid lists for them? The lot I picked up was:
1 Nemo 1 1 Nemo 2 1 Nemo 3 1 Haley 2 1 Haley 3 1 Kraye 1 Sloane 1 Caine 1 1 Caine 2 1 Jakes 2 1 Sturgis 1 Striker 2 1 Maddox
2 Grenadiers 1 Centurion 1 Stormclad 2 Hunters 1 Ace 2 Ironclads 2 defenders 1 Thorn 1 Lancer 1 Firefly 1 Older Thunderhead 1 Dynamo 1 Stormwall
2 gun Mage rifles 1 Gmca 1 Squire 1 Jakes 1 KS version 1 Alt journeyman 3 storm callers 1 Stromknight captain 1 Arlan 1 Laddermore 1 Murdock
5 stormlances 1 Full stormknights with Ua 1 old sculpt Black 13th
However if I need to buy something additional to run either caster I'm OK with that.

Can you clarify which type of stormknights you have, Stormguard or Stormblades? I.E. halberds or swords? Also don't get confused by SWORD knights who have swords and shields.
By the looks of it you have the beginnings of a Storm Division list. You also have a nice jack stable to start Heavy Metal.

I wanted to thank everyone so much for all the help. Stormsmith Dropout, I played the Haley list twice tonight, and won both games! But wow, it's intimidating playing a list that can do so much. It's easy to get bogged down in all of the choices, but I had a lot of fun. However, I had problems figuring out what to do with the Firefly. I know he adds 2 to electrical damage rolls, but with only the Stormwall and Stormclad having electro-leap, I found myself kinda at a loss. Am I missing something?

Right, so the main reason the Firefly is there is to kill some infantry. You can drop a stormpod next to a stealth solo, and shoot that with the firefly to hit the solo with lightning generator. The firefly can kill 2-4 dudes a turn, so it's a good crowd control piece.
As for Lightning Generator: The Stormpod on the Stormwall, when placed, can disrupt a warjack IF the jack is damaged by the pow10 damage roll. Now, pow10 isn't that strong. Here's an important piece of knowledge: those damage rolls can be boosted, and they benefit from ionization. So, you can hit a heavy jack with a boosted pow12, which has a much better shot at damaging and disrupting.
Other than that, the firefly is a nice, durable, and cheap jack. It's just good to have.
Glad to hear you're having fun! Haley2 brings a ton of options, but it's really rewarding once you get the hang of it.

Awsome, thanks. Yea I knew about the disruption and that you had to damage and that you could boost, but I didn't think to use the FireFly to up the damage. Also that is a good trick with the Stormpod. Really gives good range on the lightning generator. Question: each additional model hit can be as much as 4" away from the last model hit right? So I could put down the pod 4" away from the model I wanted to kill (assuming nothing else is closer), and then it would hit a model up to 4" away from the first model correct?

The lightning arcs from a model hit to the nearest non-lightning-immune model (friend or foe), so long as it is within 4" of that model. If it has multiple arcs (d3), then you find the nearest non-lightning-immune model (friend or foe) which has not already been arced to, and the lightning arcs to that model. It continues like that until there are no more arcs.
