In my defense, I'll counter that it might have been a "Two birds with one stone" thing also. I agree - it's unlikely that both of these drastic changes, happening at the same time, could possibly be unrelated. It's like someone at PP just decided to flush the community all of a sudden.

Someone on the Tabletop Minions FB page had a good observation: Most of the moderators and admins on the PP forums were volunteers, too. I'm wondering if there might have been a "force reduction" eliminating all of the non-PP employees from the equation, necessitating a similar downsizing in the scope of the forums too. It can't just be the Press Gangers that had PP worried. If that went the way it did with MtG, it could have happened to the forum volunteers too. I think you are on to something here. I just wandered over to the PP Board for a moment and found a locked thread that seems to indicate that the Infernal and Judge programs are also on the bubble. There is no mention of the mods at the moment, but there does seem to be a trend.

I just listened to the most recent Chain Attack podcast and Trevor Christensen mentioned that their were a lot changes ranging from press gangers to judges. He didn't give any specifics but mentioned changes are coming.

It sort of feels like this was all like ripping a bandaid off for PP something painful that needs to be done quickly and I know that Primecast is made for drumming up hype but I feel this kind change should have been talked about in the last episode. I hope it will show up in the next one. PP needs to sit down and do a fireside chat to let us know whats going on and what the big picture is. I live half a days drive from the nearest store that has people that play so the forums and Vassal are my only way to get my fix. I admit im a bit of an optimist and that I am as loyal to PP as I am to the empress. Looking at the situation I want to say "They know what they are doing they have a plan." But like the thornwood war it feels like its being bungled and the loss of trust by the masses is going to have a big effect.

PP has had plenty of opportunities to address some of the problems from the MKIII launch (everything is fine and as we designed it) to the nuking of the forums (you have two days to back up anything you like, we don't care enough to do so) to disbanding the press gangers (thanks but we are done). The only one they really addressed was a private email sent the press gang. Open communication is not on their MKIII platform even though they touted it as having more "transparency." Seriously, there was enough interest in players paying out of pocket to create their own forums. PP could have easily archived the faction specific threads and made those files available for people to move them elsewhere. They didn't care enough to do so. I'm not holding my breath for PP to have a fireside chat.
