Hey guys, really late to the party, but I'm working on my drawing skills and could maybe do a re-haul of all the sprites once I get to be a bit more skilled. They won't be as photo-realistic, but it at least would be consistent. I have a few ideas for the UI as well, though I have no idea how to actually do anything on the programming end (though I could probably learn, should I be able to find the material). You will need to know Java, Swing, and the general architecture of Vassal itself to adjust anything significant in the UI. But it depends what you mean - if you post your suggestions, it is easier to comment on how feasible they are. My main idea for the UI is related to damage boxes. Its really confusing for me to use numbers both for fury/focus AND for multiwound infantry/solos. So I had the idea of a set of damage boxes per model that appears from the model as like a popup. Not sure if that makes sense or not, but it would kinda function like the damage window does for warbeasts/warjacks and warlocks/warcasters, but isolated to that specific model.

It could be like a bunch of small dots hovering over the infantry. I use the damage boxes window anyways, and have found a way to keep track of each model, but, I would like a more official system. Cause, I hate the idea of using the numbers for BOTH fury and damage boxes. Plus you can't have both, in the case of the Forsaken. My original suggestion should be viewed as more of a call for a change, rather than a straight suggestion, in that regard.
