Or they did, as stated. They outlined why they did it the way they did it. Sure, there may be more work, but if they've communicated the real reason it sounds like you don't like their reason. I guess that's where we differ. I simply don't find it very plausible that they could have had all cards in order for release day one, but in order to not cause panic/anxiety/rage/confusion in the community, they chose to hold back. So, your basic stance is that they are lying...

So, your basic stance is that they are lying... I've seen quite a few people lately with this stance, I don't really get why.

So, your basic stance is that they are lying... Lying is a strong word, I would not choose that. To me it implies an intent to mislead. (There's Norwegian philosopher who's written a really good piece about the nature of lies, can't find it atm though.) I'd say that they choose to tell a story that excludes a significant part of the explanation. And that is totally unnecessary as it comes through as obfuscation rather than transparency. They could do better. EDIT: To clarify. They may very well believe that they need to ease this into the community, for some reason. Thus, they do not lie. However, I do find not find this it plausible as the main reason. As Anonymous explained above, getting data into this database is a huge undertaking. Thus, resources are likely a significant part of the explanation. In order to maintain a feeling of straightforward and transparent communication, I think PP would have been better off using that explanation. Then we wouldn't have this conversation.

Ok. I can see better where you are coming from.

I get where you are coming from as well, but I see it as fundamental flaw where Privateer loses either way. Either their dishonest which is exceptionally foolish given their recent initiatives or they're called dishonest. Be it calling it a lie or intent to mislead, it's still negative and feels like you don't like that it could be exactly what it is said to be. That said, that is what lying means. To lie is a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive...

"We're very excited to be able to present this way of delivering the cards to the community. However, entering this into a database is a massive undertaking, and we are allocating as much resources to it as we can afford at the moment. That said, we feel confident that the community will have some patience while we get this system in place. We have started with the cards for recent models, and we are doing our utmost to get everything in place in the near future. Believe us, we're as excited as you are to have this up and running, and we trust you to have patience while we ensure that things run smoothly and that quality remains top-notch."
Sort of.
Anyway, I for one am very excited to have this system available, and as I won't be needing any cards for some time – until I've painted up my new minions <3 – I'll be patient.
Over and out for my part on this issue.

I'm more inclined to think that their servers would probably melt the day the cards went up. Remember the insiders before MKIII was released?
Maybe that's what they mean by the community being eased in.
