Oh sure. The bar is so low right now that just about anything short of absolute chaos would be a step up.

One of my friends — at least judging by his FB feed — is falling hook, line, and sinker for the stupid Fox News “stolen election!!!1!1!1!” rhetoric.
For the first time in maybe a decade (outside of local game shop WM groups), I commented on his page on FB. I included a link to Snopes.
Haven’t checked yet today to see what sort of hornet’s nest I stirred up. :-P

Ah, right, the stolen elections. By the Democrats, who are simultaneously super-powerful yet never get anything done? Those stolen elections?

Ah, right, the stolen elections. By the Democrats, who are simultaneously super-powerful yet never get anything done? Those stolen elections? Yes, those! Simultaneously the most organized, dangerous, powerful cabal that can be imagined, while also being sufficiently inept and powerless to, oh, for example, win the Senate and maybe not re-elect toad-demon-in-skin-suit Mitch McConnell. Those guys. Yeah. A conspiracy involving millions of democrats to steal an election rather than to, you know, just have those millions of secret hordes go vote and win it legitimately. Those guys. Sigh.

Oh well! Sorry squee! We only had a brief digression into politics. There was — rightfully so — a non-zero amount of emotion surrounding the outcome of this particular race.

I really don't think politics belong here, period. It's easier to excuse in the LOS or r/warmachine discord channels because spontaneous conversation will always develop in unexpected direction, but forum discussion are, by their nature, not spontaneous. much easier to shut the Firetruck up and not post your hot takes here. speaking of which:

To be fair this has always been a bit of an off-topic thread.

This is the world’s most off-topic thread, and I think allowing people to breathe a four-years-in-the-making collective sigh of relief is okay.
This thread originally began about 700 pages ago as the tale of a creepy dude’s unwanted sexual foot fetish attention to a female gamer. I think we can have a mild foray into “calling a duck a duck” once in a while.

collective sigh of relief is okay. Making a bit of an assumption there perhaps mate? I don't want to start a political argument, I'm just trying to point out that your apparent assumption that we are all on the same political page as you is a little alienating. To be clear I am not American, I did not support either side.

I am prepared to take the consequences of representing the sane majority of people in this country by making that statement.
P.S. - I wasn’t planning on saying anything more on the topic than I already had.

Just speaking in general terms, I think referring to people as insane because they have different opinions, or were just mislead, only makes conflict worse.
We all have different opinions, we're all wrong about some things, and hopefully right about some. It's not because we're crazy or malicious, we're all just doing the best we can. Well, most of us are, hopefully. People who are wrong aren't going to realise that they are wrong because others casually refer to them as insane, they will only realise they are wrong through logical and respectful discourse.
The point is that villanising each other doesn't help us, it's just rips us further apart. As evidenced perhaps by the fact that this forum just lost one.
Instead of talking about sides being sane or not, let's just not talk about sides at all. Not here.

There were (intentional) layers of irony in my previous statement not sufficiently conveyed via text.
I aware that it is much easier to dehumanize people by calling them crazy rather than believe them to be willfully complicit in a deeply corrupt, racist sham of an administration.
But for real, now I’m tired of talking about politics. Please change the subject.
Something something resin and toy soldiers.
Go Obstagoon! Kill that wild Duraludon!
