“I am a retailer and I have customers who would give me money in exchange for product. However, I choose to reject that income and potential future income because of (reasons).” That...sounds like a crappy situation to be in! Sorry dude! Mind, years ago, Warmachine was pretty much alive and kicking with 6-8 active players and again that as "casual on-and-offs", that's as big as the 40K/WHFB player bases got around here and at that point at least as big as both of them combined. Their stance? "We dont care about it and we have different plans." Don't let that deter you. If the models are the issue, ordering online is cheaper, and if the gathering place is the issue, it's relatively easy to set up a table at home or find other shops that are willing to host games. also, the players in my group are all 40-ish with kids, so they're usually busy, but thanks to the Facebook group we can set up game nights whenever.

It probably shouldn't but the old gang just isn't around anymore or strictly into super casual stuff like Warhammer Underworlds and restarting it comes down to me. Can't poach at the local GW and the FLGS has hardly any wargamer crowd at all anymore.
I have no idea where to start, the only possibility I see close at hand is that I am kicking up an RP campaign with some colleagues, two of which have some interest in this sort of thing. Maybe I could sneaky in a demo game or two and slowly coach them into it. It's how it first started, except without a filled lgs to "infect".

If you’re interested — and I know and understand that this course of action would require a significant time and effort investment — you can always try to jumpstart the community yourself. Put up a Facebook group, get the information out there to your locals, and start hitting the chosen game shop(s) with periodic demo days and play nights. Be the nucleus around which a community can form. It’s a lot of work, but it is possible to build/rebuild a community from scratch!

HOW dare you make me read! This is America dammit.
Anyway, Sorcha is fine and that’s what really matters.
Though honestly I’m so far removed from the game and lore that I felt basically nothing. Good for Vlad ya know? Trying new things and stuff. Being a corpse seems pretty appealing some days so I get it. 😉

I caught the bit about the kid existing. Not so much the other stuff.
Wow. The lore sure has gotten weird.

That kid sure as hell is going to turn out alright. And is, for all intents and purposes, dead.
I mean, if your loved ones got spirited away to a galaxy untold lightyears away to never return, would the knowledge they are *probably* still alive cheer you up? :v

It's good to see that the Empress is a firm believer in the upper portion of Maslow's Pyramid of Self Defense.
