Your battle-reports are well written and I´m enjoying them (it´s one of my favorite sites). Because of you I´m considering Destors. Thank you very much!

Would it help if we started a thread on competitive lists/pairings we have had success with and explained the thought process behind them? Personally I´d really appreciate that. Please do that.

This is very good stuff. Again. Thank you very much! Looking forward to your next episodes! I posted the link to your site in our local group in the hope that others may profit as well. If one wishes to become a better player things like your writeups are very helpful..

Currently I´m playing her in Shadows as my other list is Rahn in Forges and I need something to play into Ghostfleet / Dark Host, Circle and Menoth. The list is heavily influenced by @tuckers list ideas. Most lists in Shadows that have Issyria as their warcaster have big problems with the Darkhost. At least that is my impression. I´m trying Elara in Shadows as she has some solutions to both lists as she has Marked for Death to deal with the Wraith Engine and Blackbanes. Her nuke is powerful enough to kill a solo of a flag and Sycthing Touch helps this army a lot. The combination of a charging Griffon with Scything Touch and a Magehunter-Assassin is enough to instantly remove a Wraith Engine (just for fun: A charging Griffon with Scythin Touch and a full unit of Magehunter-Strikeforce do like 60 boxes to an arm 19 colossal). The Army is fast, mobile and hits hard. I really love her as you can get useful stuff out of her toolbox every turn.
Elara, Death's Shadow - WJ: +28 - Chimera - PC: 8 (Battlegroup Points Used: 8) - Griffon - PC: 8 (Battlegroup Points Used: 8) - Manticore - PC: 14 (Battlegroup Points Used: 12) - Manticore - PC: 14
Mage Hunter Assassin - PC: 4 Mage Hunter Assassin - PC: 0 Narn, Mage Hunter of Ios - PC: 0 Arcanist Mechanik - PC: 2 Arcanist Mechanik - PC: 2 Arcanist Mechanik - PC: 2
Mage Hunter Strike Force - Leader & 9 Grunts: 16 - Mage Hunter Strike Force Commander - PC: 4 - Soulless Escort - PC: 1 Mage Hunter Infiltrators - Leader & 9 Grunts: 13 - Eiryss, Mage Hunter Commander - PC: 6 Spears of Scyrah - Leader & 2 Grunts: 9

Is the Helios necessary? Any replacements worth taking? Thinking of building up to something like this list but the price ($) of the colossal seems a bit steep to begin with. He is not necessary, but he has so much synergy with Rahn. I had lots of games in which the enemy caster was dead top of two. Tk + Forcehammer + Tractorbeam is very difficult to defend against. You could proxy Helios to try it out.

I don't think you can get 4 attacks out of a charging POW 20 Maticore. though. If I remember correctly, Broadcast Power triggers before you have the chance to pop a focus for STR. No. As Broadcast Power and the Force Generator happen simultaneously at the start of this models activation the owner gets to decide which goes first. At least this is what I know about this rule interaction.

Your Rahnlist looks similar to the one that I´m running myself. Instead of the Magister, Artificer and Hydra combo I´m playing an additional unit of HGBM and another Chimera. The second Chimera adds a lot to Rahns assasination potential. The combo of Manticore and Helios has great synergy as a charging Manticore gets one "additional" Focus because of Broadcast Power. Having a Manticor that threatens up to 14 inches with four swings at Pow20 is not that bad. The two covering fire templates add something to the matchup against Haley3. The more I´m playing Manticores with Rahn the more I´m loving them.
