I’d like to pick your brain on two things (while you are busy dojoing Azazello)
What do you think of Arkadius playing in more of a double Valkyrie, double archon setup? Are you still happy where he is at?
What are your thoughts on Carver given the Gremlin Swarm, Archon, Valkyrie success with Helga2?

Champions obviously jump to mind as do Tuffalo. At least they are faster and would like the feat as hitting power goes way down when not charging.
Suprise Bears would be great for the feat and self-deliverability but I don’t think they’ll be in theme.
The thing is: Trolls already have good infantry casters and I can’t see wanting to field this version of Azazello over Grim1, Madrak1 Kolgrima or even Grissel2?

I read the first half of his card and was getting pumped. Got to the spell list and it fell flat. Speaking with Ghoulio and I now agree with his initial take, 3 out of his 5 spells are really weak. It may not matter anyway as has already been pointed out he seems like he just wants to cycle Storm Rager and Wind Rush somewhere.
I wonder if some of this stuff is being set up for the Dhunian Theme? It seems like Helga2 and Azazello are being built with future setups in mind.

Thanks again for the reports. They are so well done. I really appreciate that you don’t just cherry pick games where you’ve done well. Makes me feel a whole lot better about my “must have left my brain in my other jacket” games.
I am curious, what WOULD you drop in to Vlad2 Doomreavers. That list just seems nasty overall.

Mulg or Rok will wreck most things without Primal. Can be placed on Brawlers as needed. Generally Wild Aggression goes on a Brawler. They threat 13” without feat. Feat turn you look to do work with that Brawler, swap Wild Agression to where it’s needed and keep going.
Unpacking and lining up your alpha is the key/challenge. Bears threatening 14” from the side help keep heavies from wondering out too far. Arcane Vortex on Mulg means if you keep Rok and/or a Brawler close they are almost impossible to debuff. Primal Shock can be clutch for removing solos.
Overtake on the 2” reach Brawlers CAN do some work if they are also Wild Agressioned. Fairly straightforward list in what it does and the 16, 15, 14” threats all over mean you are likely to hit first. Against a limited infantry army generally that means you can dictate the piece trading.
Again, I like it and would definitely feel OK in to Barny2. Not a hard counter just a good game

It’s not a hard counter to the Barny list and is very playable. I actually like it overall (given your caster restrictions).

I am thinking the Gatorman Soul Slave is out. Can’t see Dhunia being a fan of that model on any level. Hope the Runebearer and Targ are in.
Krielstone is tricky. Tough to imagine Trolls without it but there’s been a movement to get rid of the reliance on it for quite a while. Maybe they try to do that here with a theme benefit? Speaking of which, I wonder what that might be, healing of some sort?
I would guess that Northkin specific models and casters would be out. They already have a theme and they are some of the most played Trollblood models (ha, who still plays Trolls?) going.
From the Troll side I am thinking Gunnbjorn with a couple of Road Hogs and an Axer would be a neat place to start. Kill Shot, Explosivo, Guided Fire all seem good. Would LOVE it if Fire Eaters made it in somehow as the Pyre Troll, FE combo that goes so well with Bearka would be lovely with Helga2.

I am waiting for my Archons to arrive but have hopes that she will be able to slot in to something like this. Right now, this list is just too pillow fisted with Helga2 (IMO). Love the “hit n run” aspect but without her being able to do work/swing attrition on her feat I just don’t see it.

Sadly, I have seen this show before. She will not get Flashing Blade because of the feat. In six months or so the feat will be re-worded to “end activation” because of shenanigans. Why? Why must we go down this road?
As it stands she does nowhere near enough work herself to make up for her spell list & feat. That they consider her in the same bracket as Arkadius is mind blowing.

Hadn't thought of the Sea King as Gargs just seem bad in to Skin and Moans. How would you feel about that list in to the Statndard Dreamer 2x2xx2x2? I can't quit work out how the trading would go...

I like the WW idea as well. I've got a Gunny list done up that I don't hate (in theory) but I guess specifically for this match then Grim2 might be better...
I reached out to the guy currently smashing face with Grymkin as he USED to smash face with Trolls and he confirmed that there really isn't anything the faction that scares him as a Grymkin player at the moment.

Per the title. What (if any) casters/lists/combos are people having success with in to Grymkin?
Most everything I come up with seems poor (particularly in to Clock spam). My feeling here is Granny for her feat but still feels like a back foot game.

Your last matchup went better because your opponent was an imbecile (it was me).
I think this is too big of an ask (but I'm no Merc expert, maybe there is a silver bullet here).
Dreamer running two clocks as part of beast brick is different from The Child running 4+ which is different from The King of Nothing running 2 or 3 in Bump. Worthwhile to narrow it down?

That's a solid collection you've picked up and you can definitely get started with some nice Dark Menagerie lists from there.
Two birds with one stone: A well known tip/trick I like that can also deal with low SPD infantry is The Child with Wailing on a Clock + Labryrinth (Arcana) + Time Lock (Clockatrice Animus). Speed 0, cannot run or charge infantry bring a smile to my face when they are on the OTHER side of the table.

I would love a theme that let me take Longriders, War Wagons, Maulers and Bombers together.
Give it a decent theme benefit like advance move and I could see some of our lesser used casters hitting the table.
