Played against a Gearheart Magnum Opus list. My opponent only made the one list for CID testing, so he rolled to determine which of my two he would face, Kolgrimma PoD & Borka2 SotN. He had a Suppressor, Vindicator, double Storm Troopers, double Assault Troopers, one full Infantry + UA, a Dragon's Breath Rocket, and Hutchuck, so rolling Kolgrimma shut things down pretty hard for his ranged intensive list. I've been running the Northkin Elder with that list, and, even against Deceleration, the pow 14 sprays from her and the shamans cut through the 5-box units well enough. Between the feat and only needing two clouds to connect two relatively central LoS blocking terrain pieces, it ended up being kind of a shut out. That said, we pondered how different it could have gone with had he brought any Retaliator light jacks, whose sprays can remove clouds.

Having just played against Lukas, their "weakest" caster, it is not looking good at all. Fire immunity, Grievous Wounds, and -2 ARM all over the place, full cloud walls available in every list, range 16 shots with Arcing Fire over unkillable screens... yet another faction that is excruciating to play against. Great. Fire immunity is for Horgle (and what else?). Most notably, shutting down Fire Eater sprays.

SotN seems like a fine choice against them in general. I was wondering if folks will be slightly less inclined towards SotN, as having continuous immunity from the classic KSB Elder could become more relevant.

Only played it a couple of times, but I've enjoyed this list:
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company
(Grissel 1) Grissel Bloodsong, Fell Caller [+29] - Mountain King [36] - Pyre Troll [8] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Braylen Wanderheart, Trollkin Outlaw [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Trollkin Highwaymen (max) [15] Trollkin Sluggers (min) [6] Trollkin War Wagon [16]

During the CID I reported with a Gunbjorn list including the Hooch Hauler. Snipe on the Hauler (then juggled to the Raiders) was a no brainer, as it was with the GK in the list. Going to try again when when I pick one up.

Troll List.
Best I can do:
Borka2 Night Troll Night Troll Night Troll Night Troll Sorcerer Sorcerer Sorcerer Sorcerer Shaman Shaman Northkin Raiders Northkin Raiders Bog Trog Shamblers Krielstone Northkin Elder Kriel Warriors Swamp Gobber Chef
Total Cost $679.82
This one feels dirty as I have to buy full kriel warrior units with attachments but only use min Kriel warriors without attachments, but PP don't sell Kriel Warriors any other way, I believe
Borka2 (Storm of the North) Night Troll Night Troll Night Troll Night Troll Min Kriel Warriors Sorcerer Sorcerer Sorcerer Min Kriel Warriors Sorcerer Sorcerer Sorcerer Min Kriel Warriors Sorcerer Sorcerer Sorcerer Min Kriel Warriors Sorcerer Sorcerer Sorcerer Shaman Shaman Bog Trog Shamblers Goblin Tinker
$840.75
Think outside the box Big Fat Troll
Impressive. Without the min units, I conjured up: Horgle2 - Kriel Company Sea King Max Raiders + 3 Sorcerers Max Raiders + 3 Sorcerers Max KSB + 3 Sorcerers Pummeler Pummeler Thumper Gobber Tinker $744.82

I've had good results with Night Trolls in my pre-CID Doomshaper2 PoD lists. They're great for mulching single-wound warrior models with Overtake + Wild Aggression (and Rage if needed), killing up to 6 a turn. They are of course good for being on point, as they are cheap and stealthy, but also because they are often up front, I have used them on feat turn to charge in first and animus to pull desirable targets (that my opponent often thought were just out of my threat range) in closer. Additionally, when I had ADR pairings, I used to play 1 pt under so I could swap them out for an Earthborn when needed, however due to both the point cost reduction of the EBDT and the allowance of 1 pt models, i.e., Gobber Chefs, that is no longer necessary.

I've played a couple games, 2 with Trollbloods, 1 with Circle. My Protectorate is has been gathering dust for a while, but I've been looking at Menoth lists and picked up Elias just for this.
Hand size is very important. There are lots of cards that feel like mini-feats, and more options obviously means more tactical flexibility. Additionally, even though the lack of focus/fury gives the initial impression that boosting will be a to minimum, there are a lot of cards that enable boosting/additional dice/rerolls, and a larger hand can (in one way) be looked at as more dice manipulation. With that in mind, adding something like a Vassal Mechanik to your list (even without a jack) for the +1 R can be a very reasonable consideration. Also, even if it doesn't fulfill its traditional WM role, having another body to interact with scenario objectives or even just to be a speed bump for nastier things can be worth the inclusion. PP has mentioned that the Requisition cost list isn't set in stone and may change as time goes on.
The two that I've made, seem (according the the handful of games I've played) like they'll be effective and am eager to try are:
Elias Gade (Mission Specialisst) Allegiant OtF Vassal Mechanik Errants x 10 Hand size: 6
and
Pyrrhus (Mission Specialist) Allegiant (OtF) Vassal Mechanik TFG x 6 Rhoven & Co Hand size: 4
I chose Mission Specialist in the first list primarily for the CMD boost in part for Relentless/Pathfinder (which is big in CoI), but also bc a lot of good Command cards have abilities based on the CMD of your Commander. So far I've tried Frontline Officer, Guerilla Fighter and Mission Specialist. the latter two were both pretty good, but Frontline doesn't seem terribly useful relative to others.

Now if Arcane Vortex was on the Bomber, that would be egregious! Perhaps a last minute Kolgrimma field marshal?

It's entirely possible that it gets hot-fixed, though - even if it wasn't intended - the fact that they are attempting to encourage inclusion of the Dhunian Knot makes me think they will only change it if there's a noted, egregious instance/s of it taking place (which seems unlikely).

Yeah, it would definitely work. I have made Doomshaper3 lists with one Bomber in them (and without a MK) to keep folks honest, so that's were my mind goes first. That said, there's still the cost issue of 22pts + 19pts + 6pts = not as much other stuff as I'd like. Still plan to try it. Maybe also with Doomshaper2, as even if the "Fury Vortex" (copyrighted!) isn't super handy, I certainly wouldn't mind having Puppet Master rereolls for those big alpha strikes.

Not sure if this has been addressed, but they do have a small use with Mulg. If they are within walk + cast of him (or within walk + cast of something that moves/is within 3" of him) they can cast Puppet Master at it and he can remove fury with Arcane Vortex. Not stellar, but also not the worst use them, ideally after he charges in and builds up a decent stack. Don't get me wrong, I'd still rather have +2 THR than be "incentivized" to bring the Knot, and it still doesn't fix the fact that they cost 6 pts you would generally rather spend on beasts in PoD (especially when you're already paying 22 for Mulg), but making the best of this lot.

Now that I think about it. You know what would be a better theme benefit for Pod? Whelps gain stealth I would be perfectly content with them gaining Meat Sentinel.
