...That technically is true. The best KIND of True! Not saying Boosted Melee attack rolls for knockdown aren't great, its just such a peculiar equivalency.

Their solution for a bunch of the engines was just to slap some extra boxes on them...
But to be fair I'm not really sure what the gun carriage needs. Maybe some sort of creeping barrage type thing would be good?

Give it multiple shot types like the Victor.
Rough Terrain, maybe a Shrapnel Shot which is a SP10. And maybe a creeping barrage shot.

So 2 carriages cost as 3 min wgi units with 3 rockets. 1 carriage is comparable to 3 rockets in damage. Field gun and s&p fixes rat of either, it can also fix rat for itself and other models by doing slams. While it's not the best shooting we have, it's definitely the second best. I can see taking it in theme (counts for points) or as a second big shooting thing after WGRC unit out of theme. In theme it allows to have a durable centerpiece that counts for points.
All in all I think it's good now. Entirely unexciting, but good.

I would rather see it be more of a "tank" consistent with the Insider ... early rounds lay down rough terrain, then charge in and disrupt plans up close and personal...Hoof to Face. Maybe boosted attack rolls and something (akin to meat thresher) that allows to to attack everything in its LOS.

Yeah, it does everything you would expect a tank to do.

Ah, I thought for some reason it was Destroyer damage and not WGRC damage.
yes the WGRC does an average less damage than the Battle engine.
But I'm still not really impressed for its cost. We have less buffs that work on it, it has less attacks and is more expensive.
But it will sit in place in contested zones and not die so people will take it but won't buy it.

I don't think it is bad but I also don't think it is interesting. If you already liked it you have even more reason to use it, if you don't already use it they didn't add anything compelling to change your opinion.

I agree with welshhoppo, give it different ammo types. Making rough terrain is nice against the right list but often isn't very useful. It would be nice to have at least one more option.

Yeah, it does everything you would expect a tank to do. Tanks don't get bogged down by infantry. They reliably crush through them even after they are engaged. I think the Meat Thresher has 1-2 abilities I'd love to see on the GC.

Does it count for points in Winter Guard theme? I thought it didn't previously? Which is why it seemed pretty pointless to take once they removed the sac pawn from it...
I think the shot types are probably a good idea. Rough terrain can be okay, but it's also often completely useless. It's a big tank, it should carry a bunch of different shells...

I proposed the idea that the model also counts as a Warrior Unit for the purposes of being targetted for effects.
That would at least give it something interesting to do mechanically.
