Looks like Legion will avoid the worst of the nerf bat.
- Blight Archon increasing to 9 points (as almost every other Archon, it seems) - Archangel flying high providing a reducing range to a minimum of 8 inches (unless the weapon range is shorter to begin with) - Hellmouth no longer a requisition option in Primal Terrors theme (which I believe was deemed too powerful, anyway).

I thought I saw some rumblings about Hellmouths on FB but didn't dive in to find out what the hub-bub was about. I like Hellmouths... but it was the cost of Chosen that kept me out of PT theme. I still haven't picked up a set (note, haven't played in years due to local meta and covid and etc.). But I do have 2 Hellmouths and have used them in lists. They are good so if that's all the changes there, I'll take it. I'd have to look up what exactly Flying High change impacts... I think you're right, not much? Archons are duh

Whoops, I missed a couple:
- Fyanna Iron Flesh: +4 ARM versus blast damage instead of blast immunity
- Searyn I: Force Barrier: ditto - Blight Archon: Soul Ward reduced in range to 5 inches.

While a nerf... +4 vs Blast compared to Immunity... does it really change that much? I did always liked the concept of putting Iron Flesh on my Swordmen but never had a great deal of success with it (note - I am not a good player and may be meta specific).
There is some push to see more +/- rather than immunities, and that seems like a good thing if done without sacrificing too much simplicity. Then again - WarmaHordes isn't about being 'simplistic' (not necessarily a bad thing in some cases).

I'm curious what kind of a buff Primal Terrors will received since we are losing the free hellmouths benefit.

I'm more curious about the animus changes they mentioned that Thagrosh0 was designed considering.

Without hellmouths, the PT requisition options leave a lot to be desired. Thags0, Gorag and either a war chief or Ammok seems reasonable. They're bringing some things down in power and I think the PT change is part of that. No need to replace the change with a buff, that'll just cancel out their goal.

I was already finding myself using primal terrors more to run a beast heavy list with free hellmouths and less for ogrun (maybe 1 unit). I don’t enjoy mass ogrun builds, so if they just take away the requisition option without further changes I’ll probably shelve the theme for a while personally and stick to Ravens and CotD (virtues are more fun anyways). It’s just too bad because I was finally getting my ogrun painted Edit - to make it clear. I’m not saying the theme will be bad, but I have not been excited by any of the lists I’ve tried making in it with the changes we know so far. This post is just about my own enjoyment level.

I've been liking Ravens for beasts myself. Legion beasts generally switch hit anyway, so Mark Target is nifty to have along side hellmouths.

Yep, it’s pretty decent - and the +1 to the starting roll can be really nice.
CotD is also very good because shepherds are super useful and not readily available elsewhere (aside from oracles) and virtue champions are just solid even without much army synergy.

So what does the community hope for with upcoming animi changes? New animi choices for Legion or buffs to our existing repertoire?

Personally, I am hoping that Privateer Press feels they made a mistake by removing tenacity from the game. As a result, they bring it back in some form or increase the DEF and/or ARM on some of the casters. In Mark 1 and 2, it was a proprietary Legion animus, and I would like it become so again.

The premise of removing Tenacity was good... why go through the extra hoop/suffer point tax of including a shredder for it when it can be wrapped into the beast's base profile. But when the beasts stats didn't reflect the adjustment(s) (stat boost, point decrease or whatever) - then it was more like a kick in the teeth, the insult is when other faction(s) got the same effect after that proclamation.
Still - I think that simplifying play to have Tenacity baked in would be nice. Since there are no plans for that, then I would absolutely take Tenacity back.
As far as what I would like to see... I don't feel like I have a lack of choices but a lack of impactful choices from animi. I would like what we have revamped/redone so they can be more useful than what they are now.
