I was browsing the PP webstore today, and stumbled onto the Order of Illumination Vigilants. It looks like it's a five-man unit? That's a bit strange for a small-based unit isn't it? But more importantly, the four grunts all share a single body sculpt, with two different heads to go around.
I know that a lot of people around here don't have an issue with a unit of exact duplicates, but I'm not one of those people. And I've put up with PP's tendency to have only three sculpts in a unit, making efforts to distinguish them using conversions, but this is a new level. I can't. I love Morrowans and I'm extremely happy that they've received new units - I bought the Precursor Knights at a time when no-one was playing them, with no plans to play them myself, purely because I liked the sculpts - but I will not be buying the Vigilants.
Also I cannot see how they can aim their crossbows, or more importantly how they use their crossbows without cutting their own fingers off.

Just looking at the 3d sculpts, I think you're wrong. The capes and leg placement on the grunts indicatea different sculpt. They might share arms?
I love to shit on PP when they're being greedy/stingy bastards, but I don't think that's the case here. Not as bad, at least, still wish they'd bother with a third grunt.
3/5 small is unusual, but then you also have 4/6 on medium bases.

Hmm, you're right, the leg placement, location of the sword, and way the cloak sits is slightly different. It wasn't obvious because the poses are so similar and because the two are shot from different angles so the difference at first glance can be misinterpreted as being just due to the perspective. Shame the poses are so close, but I guess it's not that bad after all: a three-man unit has three unique sculpts, even if they are a bit same-y.

Lol! I didn't notice that before! No wonder they are only a 5-man unit, they're giants!

Looking at them I think there crossbows and back weapons are a little too chunky to have them on small bases. That and there points cost and rules put them more on a par with heavy infantry units from other factions.

Interesting theory but heavy infantry is on 40mm bases. If Manowar fit on 40mm these should too
