Kith and Kin, If you're on the Facebook page at all, you may have seen some talk about John Jr Henry's very weird Grissel1 list. Here it is: conflictchamber.com/?c7201b_-2758jpiXjqoPoPoR7d6RjO0l0m6n6n6n6n6nTrollbloods [Theme] Power of Dhunia !!! This army contains pre-release entries. [Grissel 1] Grissel Bloodsong, Fell Caller [+29] - Mulg the Ancient [22] - Troll Basher [7] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Dhunian Archon [0(6)] Dhunian Archon [0(6)] Hermit of Henge Hold [5] Janissa Stonetide [4] Troll Whelps [4] Gatorman Bokor & Bog Trog Swamp Shamblers [10] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Trollkin Runeshapers [8] Trollkin Runeshapers [8] Trollkin Runeshapers [8] Trollkin Runeshapers [8] Trollkin Runeshapers [8] This list is surprisingly good. Dhunian Archons keep Runeshapers alive and heal them like crazy. Mulg anchors the list and threats 14". You've got a +4 damage swing to have anything in the list crank damage. It's not the fastest list, but Hoof It helps get stuff where it needs to be. Note that this is a very difficult list to play. Placement and order of activation are tricky, as is having a solid understanding of your opponent's damage output. The Archons/Hermit can keep 2-3 extra Runeshapers alive, but only if you know when to save them. You've got a lot of bubbles to keep track of (Archons 10" healing range, Bokor's 7" corpse collection, Mulg's 3" Arcane Vortex, Stone's Aura, Hermit's Mad Visions/Master of Ruin range) and all it takes is a little bit of bad placement to throw off your whole turn (e.g., Mulg's blocked in from his Righteous Vengeance move, Hermit can't move up and cast Master of Ruin before the Bokor charges, etc.) That being said, it's a lot of fun and you should definitely give it a shot. I was skeptical at first, but it surprisingly good at not dying and removing pieces from the table. Once again, credit goes to John Jr Henry for the list!

The only part of this I don't like is that I'll need to buy 3 more units of runeshapers. Guess it's time for some early Christmas presents for myself.

Are runeshapers survivable enough for healing to work on them? When not dug in a barrage of pwr 10s can wipe quite a few out. Double Dhunians+Hermit is pretty cool though.
I wonder if it is better served by something like Boomhowlers instead of only Runeshapers.

Sorry for the noob questions XD Again, not my list, but here's what I've discovered: 1) Grissel for a lot of reasons. Guardian Protector and Boundless Charge give Mulg a 14" threat. Hoof It is so versatile; you can get a unit of Runeshapers into position, you can have Mulg back up after killing something, you can give a model that extra push it needs to get into a zone, etc. Heroic Ballad is situationally useful to make sure Mulg or the Basher can kill something. Calamity and the Hermit give the list a +4 damage swing so pretty much anything in the list can crack armor. 2) In the few times I've played the list, the Runeshapers stay in Protective Aura range but can leave if need be. Two Dhunian Archons means you can easily cover everything in the list. 3) You've got a lot of models that can contest, small units to score circular zones, and a fair amount of solos to cap flags. Janissa is situationally useful here, but for the most part you score by pretty efficiently clearing a zone. This list has some pretty good attrition power.

ARM 17, 5 boxes, Steady and Tough is kind of a dream when playing into a swarm of POW 10s. You could try Boomhowlers, but then you'd have to lose the Bokor and Shamblers which are another crucial part of the list. You stick those little Shamblers in the way of everything so they get killed and heal up your Runeshapers. I've only got a few reps in at this point, but the only models that feel flexible are Janissa and the Whelps, but even then I'd be hard pressed to swap them out. Janissa brings a ton of offensive and defensive utility and the Whelps cap flags, contest, and eventually die and heal something else.

Do the dhunion archon's healing ability trigger twice (assuming both in range) for each dead shambler? That would be crazy good.

I really like troll players start to innovate new and don't stick to Kolgrima+champions anymore. BUT I personally don't like Henry's list as I don't want to spam that much same unit and don't like shamplers (but have to admit that they wit nicely to Dhunias).

I've been trying to think of a good conversion for them. I love the idea of them not being dead Bog Trogs, but being more natural constructs like the Mannekins. Struggling on the Bokor though, as I'd really rather not play a Gatorman amidst all these Troll wizards. Some kind of Ragnor-like shaman would be awesome.

Been tryin pGrissel in a few different lists for past few weeks. That henrys one woudn;' cross my mind. Still think that PoD sucks, and I dont like to rely on taf and healing so much, as to build a whole list around it. But currently I belive that Grissel has the best spell lists in trolls, dials beast to 11 . She just lacks a feat I dont belive that her old feat should be back. But at least let her pick one song and let it affect models in her control.

Having them as some sort of reincarnated Pygs or Whelps would be cool and the Bokor could be a Dhunian priest or shaman?
