Have started to have some success with Butcher 3 binki bridage. Nothing complicated
Khador
[Theme] Jaws of the Wolf
[Butcher 3] Kommander Zoktavir, the Butcher Unleashed [+22]
- Devastator [14]
- Devastator [14]
- Devastator [14]
- Marauder [11]
- Marauder [11]
- War Dog [3]
Kovnik Apprentice Kratikoff [4]
- Destroyer [14]
Morrowan Archon [8]
Widowmaker Marksman [4]
Yuri the Axe [0(5)]
Kayazy Eliminators [0(5)]
Kayazy Eliminators [0(5)]
Essentially your binki brigade delivers a full camp/4 camp butcher straight at their caster. There is NOT a lot in the game that can take that ARM 23 at range. The fact that the jacks got pathfinder is frankly GOLDEN. The Morrow and the Doge are there to help butcher survive since good players will try to force butcher into a danger position and then retaliate. DEF 18 is a bit of a thing. Then, if need be, you have a ton of things to slam and combo smite things out of the zone.
The trick is frankly figuring out the stuff that can kill Butcher3,. Today I lost cause I had never seen Cross2 before and didn't really get how critical it is to use silence of death on the infantry to deny him souls and thus turn him into a very ordinary caster.
oh and Tharm Archons are STUPID with their rerolls on every POW 14 true site shot. How in the world did THAT get through ;-)

Where does Silence of Death normally go? Do you just keep it on Butcher from the start?

Eliminators are not terrible silence of death targets, especially if you can find a way to cycle the buff.

I would love to figure out an arm debfuff to tune the Devestators up to POW 20. MAYBE hermit rather than Archon cause his once a game no damage is pretty damm good on Butcher. More testing on that in the future.

Another win today against Retribution (Kylessa). Even with her phantom hunter spell and Refuge it didn't feel like there was a lot she could do. Elminators after getting a long look from the GM shined - they murderated a group of sentinals that were very sad they couldn't threaten extend. I would have to do the math on charging sentinals - feels like the whole unit would have to commit to hitting a Clam; any misses if the Angel are there are devestating (sorry for pun) to their chances to kill and if they FAIL to kill then it feels like Rain of death to the rescue so Butcher can do other butcher things.

Not my style of list (I prefer less active casters), but a question - how have you been finding the Destroyer on Sorscha0? I wonder whether a Rager might give you a situationally useful Shield Guard and a short range gun, keeping Sorscha0 within BC range of the other jacks. It's a debatte I've been having with myself in a Vlad1 WGK list, so interested in perspectives here.

In 2019 Steam roller there are a number of scenarios where you want at least one jack to "go do work alone". Spread the net is a pretty good example. Send the Destroyer off to go sit in that zone and act as a mobile gun platform. If he is within 8 of S0 that is house money. Meanwhile she is checking to be always within 12 of butcher (so she can move and Spell). While having TWO shield guards are great it makes it even more vulnerable to losing on scenario - its big weakness.

How in the world did THAT get through ;-) I like this list. Part of it is also a pairing issue with Wolves. Bring the shooting necessary to deal with Doomies and it is unlikely you have the power to chew through ARM 23 Clams. Armor cracking to deal with the clams? Unlikely to be good into Doomies. Meanwhile you think about THEIR lists and which is the best for you - so for example I looked at dropping into a Z2 or Vlad1 rockets with Maurader spam. Well I knew NEITHER of those lists really had much of a chance into clams. MAYBE try to kill the wall and then come back with rockets killing Butcher but at Def 16 under Fog and with a shield guard kinda hard. They could, however, kill a bunch of doomies. Z2 would have had hard time getting through full camp butcher, especially if I blocked LOS to keep Kiss and Brittle Frost off him. Even at with a 6 arm swing into ONE clam the sprays just are not scary. So an EASY drop. I had similar choices into a bunch of other matchups. One change I am strongly thinking about on that is to look at a recent list I have seen that used Vlad_3_ with a 5 doomie load out as list chicken fake out - can you really afford to not bring high volume shooting with that many doomies and if you do can you chew through ARM 23 jacks. I would make that change if/when I can fit Widget in - to fly around and REALLY be a pain as she heals up jacks and ensures I can snipe out flags.

Thanks - so the answer is the unhelpful 'context', as Vlad1 with Battle Engines doesn't have the same issue, and wants to keep Sorscha0 closer to multiple jacks, rather than just the caster.

Yeah - to an extent. This army plays in a turtle so if she is close to B3 she is USUALLY close to a few jacks as well. The binki wall doesn't really want to open up until such time as it is "go butcher go" and BC doesn't work on slams - the preferred powerattack of all good binkis ;-)

I’m not even sure where Sand pull the name Binki out of... it’s just something that has always been like that.

It's a term used by one player's meta I believe,
I have no idea what prompted the name, I just call them Devastators. Or Devvies if the situation warrants it.

Yeah I think there was a poster on here that had about 8 of them or something and used to refer to them as the binki brigade. Can't remember who it was though.
Cheers, Dave
