Hi guys, I am just returning to the game after a bit of a hiatus, and have fully recommitted myself to Circle (no more dabbling in other factions...except maybe Trolls eventually ). In the last 3 weeks I have been able to play about 6 full games and a few JML games. In those games I was given the opportunity to play against some of the lists I had been reading about (being that they are quite strong). I was able to play against a Grymkin 6 clockatrice list, and a Zaal2 double supreme guardian exalted list. That got me thinking, what other big meta benders exist in the current game, and how to we handle them as Circle. So far I have the following on my list, but I am sure this is not exhaustive:
Skorne Exalted (double Supreme guarding)
Grymkin clockatrice spam Protectorate Harbinger
I am curious what people's experience is into these lists, and other similar meta benders, and how you think we would handle them as Circle. I play in a pretty competitive area and would like to arm myself with as much knowledge as possible as I start to get back into tournaments.
***Side note, I played Iona with a storm raptor into grymkin (wanderer + 6 clockatrice). I ended up winning that game after a lucky / good feat turn. I basically traded the bird for 5 enemy heavies (4 clockatrice and a cage rager). I played wurmwood dev host into zaal2 exalted and that felt pretty rough. I feated past midfield after losing the roll for first turn. He then jammed me really hard on his feat turn which left me without the ability to properly attrition. I am sure practice makes this much more playable, but for what it was it felt like a tough match up.
Also, let it be said that the Supreme Guardian and Clockatrice are INSANE. They will defeat your opponent and make you dinner at the same time. #value

Bradigus has always been my go to grymkin drop. I have yet to play him into 6 clocks, but being immune to paralysis seems like it could be worth while. I would like to play into it, but it may take some time before I see it.

Locally Ret is a big issue. Kaelyssa, Issyria and Garryth2 means you have to bring something that can survive a dedicated gunline. Wurmwood, eKrueger and I think pKrueger are all pretty playable into it, but it really requires a good knowledge of the matchup.
If you are having issues with Harbinger dropping pMorvahna is usually a good option. Mortality just means her infantry simply vanish. If that's not your thing then Dev Host brings a fair amount of Grievous wounds if built for it. Last option would be to use one of your requisition options for 3 Gallows Groves and protect them well. While there are of course more sources of Grievous and no healing, these would be the easiest fixes.
I've never really had huge trouble into Exalted myself. Tharn under pBaldur seem to have game into it (though it doesn't necessarily have to be Baldur...anyone with a control feat makes the game way easier). Your Warlock should always attempt to counter feat. Having armour 24-26 Battle Engines in your face that you can't mitigate is potentially a game ender. If you have your feat handy though you can minimize their range. Trying to use the Wolf Rider champions and/or LotF to remove the Extoller Advocates means that his units suffer through your feat just like everyone else. And if you bring a Well of Orboros, you can actually RFP his constructs. We have some tools, it's just a matter of putting them in lists and getting lots of practice.
Haven't had the chance to play into 6 Clocks yet...our local Grymkin player runs Dreamer with 2. Bones seems like the right call into 6. No Paralysis, no corpses, lots of control (my assumption is either eKrueger or Wurmwood...gut tells me both are viable, though I like Wurmwood more as he covers a larger portion of the faction).
