to introduce myself i am an old mk2 player who stopped playing towards the end of mk2. I played nearly the whole edition but left towards the end as many locals moved on to other things. Warmachine has seen a bit of a revival in my area and locals pulled me back in. Ive really been excited for the Infernals so ive started this blog to talk about them.
I play a mixture of real games and vassal games, but expect a lot more vassal reports until all the infernal models have been released and i have them painted.
Thanks for reading

These are good posts. Though I think you under-value the anti-infantry potential of the Shrieker when backed up by a Wretch.

I feel like Infernals have so much infantry clearing available to them that even more of it doesn't register as much to me. An extra shrieker and wretch might be great with Omodamos to bring in if you've ended up in a match where the opponent has a lot of infantry for example!

I dont disagree with your assessment but somehow i had hoped someone would be more positive about some of these beasties. I started a thread on Horrors a while ago and come to some of the same conclusions. I enjoy reading Infernals content so thanks for that! I do see a lot of people adding Lamenters to their BGs, with Zaath and Omo so maybe they are seeing something Im not...Im also still torn between taking Foreboders and trying to keep them alive until they can do something OR really paying that tax so you can get into that good spot...

I think the Lamenters for Omodamos are being added until Oblivion changes drop. It lets him get in more models to build synergy without losing that always critical max freebies people aim for. Tormenters are actually really good, so i have a feeling post Oblivion Omodamos is going to really build for a heavy battlegroup. With Decel and Locked Horns (Hermit lets you upkeep, summon, and locked horns!) you can have six arm 21 heavies by turn 2.
For Zaateroth, Lamenters are definitely about feat synergy.
i like paying for the foreboders because you can get quite cheeky with them, particularily with Zaateroth. if you get a good position, after arcing your spells you can use Rites to move that foreboder back out of line of sight. At 4 points spd6 flight eyeless sight they're a great arc node that i think a lot of factions would be jealous of, even cryx.
Thanks for reading, i have a lot more content planned!

In the first of many planned match up analysis posts, i discuss an overview of the Circle matchup for Infernals. I plan to cover every faction, and the pros and cons of the match up as well as my recommended tactics. Further caster vs caster or caster vs theme articles may follow if they are nuanced enough infernalbatreps.home.blog/2019/07/07/infernals-vs-circle-a-faction-showdown/Check it out at the link above, or in the collated post section at the start of this thread

I'm thinking about doing a list building post for each of the Hearts of Darkness warcasters. Would you guys be interested in that, and which casters do you want to see first?

Sloan and Malakov Also, how many games have you played with Infernals? So far i'd say about 30-ish games split between Zaateroth (majority), Agathon, Omo(least among the masters), Feora3 and Malakov (only 2 games).
Right now i play every few days and i try to get 2-3 games in on days that i play and am trying to rapidly ramp up my experience with the faction
