OK.
SO I STILL think he should be able to rock. Sure last stand is sorta a dead spell but there is just too much good in his kit.
So lets see if we can make WGK work with him.....
Why WGK?
1) Because between Fog of War and Quicken (and then Joe and No Sleeping) you SHOULD have game _IF_ you can keep Sorscha0 alive. It is scary to have her forward but _IF_ you can keep her alive you have a nice buff package for at least some of the game. Def 16 WGIDS (against ranges and Magic) is a blast from the past worth playing with.
2) Because IR can go on Beast 09. Now you can hide S0 Right behind his ass and not worry about, for example, the ThunderCricket. It also can go well on the Fun Carriage (for ARM 22) if Slams are less of a concern.
3) Last stand on WG with Bears Strength sounds HYSTERICAL.
The question (a decent one) is whether Irusk2 stalingrad is just as good. Not sure - have to think about that.

Lol San, I reached the same conclusion. WGK in Strak_2 for some Last Stading Bear Strengthened grunts sounds like loads of fun (think Pig Burrowers in the Olden days of Mk2 Fun). Only thing we would need is a decent Hit Fixer to knockdown DEF 12+ Jacks and Beasts, but I'm guessing the Fun Carriage can do that, and it's even a sweet target for Boundless.

sand20go - I'd probably ditch the UAs and Rockets from the WGI. If you're trying to leverage Bear's Strength + Last Stand, keep them no frills and cheap, so they can keep pressing forward. Use the points to buy Rifles + rockets.
Also, in the battlegroup, why a Rager over another Marauder? You can't use the point saved for anything else in the list, and WGK is hardly short of protection from shooting for your caster. Is it to keep Sorscha0 safe, because Beast alone isn't enough? Just thinking that a Last Stand + Boundless Marauder has good odds of taking down a huge base or another heavy, so having a couple doesn't seem like a bad choice.

Go for the fireworks list, the "4th of July".
Jaws of the wolf with tons of berserkers and 1 juggernaut, malakov and sorscha 0 along with 2 forge seers. The only real jack is malakov's juggy, the rest are exploding missiles XD.

All strak2 needs to have happen to become terrifying is for LegOS to be decent to good as a theme choice in the meta. His kit is terrifyingly great with ifp

hmmmm, I guess they are! I was thinking the extra dice was only on damage

In my last game versus Skorne I cast Last Stand on a full unit of IFP and charged a War Mammoth that just took out my Marauder, the only model in LoS that can reliably-ish take out a colossal.
It was glorious to roll all those dice, see the huge base being taken off and then grab the unit with both hands and mumble delete.

Strakhov2 is very solid in Legion and pretty good in Wolves. Not tried WGK, but not convinced to be honest.
LoS gets a lot of bad press online, but I think with the addition of the adjunct (and maybe a steelhead ranged unit/weapon crew?) it is very playable. Strakhov2 gels so well with LoS. And Last Stand is definitely not dead when you can CMA with pikes! I used to run 2 min unit of pikes and would stick Last Stand on whichever unit needed it most. Got use out of it basically every game.
Wolves is a little different. Faster, but not as tough. Probably easier to dismantle too due to the multiple counter-chargers and shield guards you can have dotted around in Legion. The feat works nicely with the reavers and Quicken on outriders creates some very strong pressure on your opponents support pieces very quickly. Also, Inviolable Resolve can go on Ruin, making him an absolute nightmare to deal with! ARM22, no spells, no pushes is annoying for opponents. I like backing up the reavers with the steelhead halberdier + Valachev + Sgt Nick for a nice Last Stand unit. You get surprisingly good recursion from the greylords bringing back reavers plus Sgt Nick. Additionally, your opponent is forced to deal with reavers, but has to also deal with the halberdiers following behind, who hit almost as hard with Last Stand.
So I don't think he ever wasn't great to be honest. He works well in a couple different list builds.
Cheers, Dave
