Today we started to play a 900 point unbound game. We are using the old mark 2 rules for unbound. We are playing the scenario where the attacker needs to destroy a majority of arm 18/ 100 hp building. PoM is defender meet is attacker The PoM army The Merc Army After deployment Close up for fun

This is like my dream. I've only played 2 unbound games in MK3 and I enjoyed the hell out of them. Both of them at 300 points. I'd love to go bigger!

Eh.... There's essentially no way for the defender to win that scenario. I should know; I've won it several times. How did the Mercs player not shoot all the buildings off the table round 1? It looks like he had sufficient firepower in battlegroups and battle engines alone.

It took him 3 rounds to kill 6 buildings. I could have prevented it but I messed up my order of activations. Deceleration and armor buff helped. We rulled it that buildings count as friendly faction models but can't be healed. That made it more interesting.
But I made a bunch of bad mistakes and he killed the necessary buildings. Oh well it was still fun

Round 2 turn 4 is the point all the front building died Sevy Killed Gortun on Round 2 Turn 8 with a strategically place avatar to face and ashes to ashes. End of Round 2 Round 3 Turn 4 Merc wins after destroying 6 building. Protectorate player cpuld have played much better and prolonged the game for longer. Total; 13 hour long game.

(Everybody remembers the structure rules, right? )

Looks like a cool battle game-wise, but so many unpainted minis is a disappointment and takes away a lot from the visual spectacle I expect from playing such games (Apocalypse WH40K mostly, WM&H has so far capped at 200pts/side for my group, unfortunately )

Now that I no longer have to go to school I can spend more time on it

1st - don't take it personal - I've just shared my approach to such games, it doesn't have to be compatible with yours For us one of the most important points of playing such games is the visual spectacle and playing unpainted minis kind of defeats this purpose. every single mini painted there 2nd - maybe new GW Contrast paints will help ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIEtAlMSndQA fully painted mini in 4minutes seems great, it's even faster than some of the quick-painting experiments I used to run to prove non-painters that painting is absolutely not time-consuming if they don't want it to be.
